About this property

Ideal Modern Farmhouse Retreat

Nestled at the base of majestic Mount Currie our home is a short trail walk to the charming town of Pemberton. There is easy access to trails, lakes, the backcountry and only 25 minutes to Whistler.

A modern post and beam design, this 4 bed 4.5 bath farm home, features a cozy reading nook, large kitchen, a great room, a media/games loft and private office. Along with the 10 serene acres of farm life with chickens and cattle, you will love the spacious backyard, pool and screened cabana.
The space
Upon entering you will instantly feel at home with the authentic barn wood feature walls, wood stove and large picture windows looking out to the mountains, fields and gardens.

There are several distinct and inviting lounge areas to just be quiet in or to gather together. There are copious games, books and activities to enjoy both inside and out. Each bedroom has a private ensuite, quality linens and storage space. The entire house is air conditioned and can be controlled separately.

The great room features a large single slab live-edge table that comfortably seats 10 and the fully stocked kitchen is built for entertaining. Special extras include a coffee bar and espresso machine, a wine fridge and a dozen farm fresh eggs with your visit.

If you have to work a little or need a private space, there is a dedicated office with a large l-shaped desk, a printer and big window overlooking the front field. High speed fiberoptic wifi is available throughout the house on 2 separate networks with boosters.

Our home is family and pet friendly. We have a baby gate at the top of the staircase and a lower handrail for the little ones. There are a range of toys, books and games for ages 2+and a high chair, sleeping crib and safety bed rail can be requested. A sandbox, play kitchen and hammock are fun outside places to enjoy.

The backyard is fully fenced for your kids and pets to play in. All other areas of the property require a leash please as to not disturb the other animals or crops. There is a filtered pool that is not heated with a slide and pool toys. An adjacent screened gazebo houses lots of patio furniture and a propane fire table. Backyard bonfires are an option subject to local regulations and the starry nights are magical.
Guest access
The entire main house and backyard/ pool area are for the exclusive use of the guests. The laundry is a shared space that can be locked off by the guest from the main house. The garage, mechanical room, workshop and storage are owner/ caretaker use only. The suite above the garage is occupied.

The other farm buildings on the property including the barn, chicken coops and garden sheds are private. As this is a working farm, there will be other people in the fields etc as required. Extended stays will require the caretaker to access the pool and backyard for maintenance.
Other things to note
Please be advised that this home is on well water with a very high-tech treatment system and great pressure. Water from the tap may appear "cloudy" but will settle in seconds as it comes from the pipes with turbidity.

We are on a septic field system and therefore absolutely nothing can be flushed other than waste and toilet paper. Anything else will potentially clog and disrupt the system causing damage.

Our hot water and back up generator run on propane. In the event of a power outage, the generator will automatically start and electricity will be maintained. All systems will function as normal , however, the heat pump units will need to operate at half wattage. We have often been the only ones for miles with lights on !

Arrangements can be made to rent for nominal fees - life size lawn games, canoe, paddle boards and inflatable boats.
