I’ve been traveling all over the world for years and NEVER in my life have I been kicked out of a hotel or apartment. Urban Quarters, congrats — you broke that record.
It took me almost a week of back-and-forth before even booking, just trying to understand where my family would sleep. They kept dodging questions, saying guests were inside so they couldn’t send pics. How do you not have photos of your own beds??
Eventually they sent something, and I booked. Huge mistake. First night, what they called a “couch” turned out to be a joke — a back-breaking contraption with metal bars and joints sticking out. My family couldn’t sleep there, so my wife and I took it. I didn’t sleep a minute. I was literally in pain.
I messaged the manager asking if he’s ever laid on it himself. He gave me a generic “we’ll look into it” reply. The next night was just as awful. Keep in mind — I was recovering from eye surgery. Rest was non-negotiable.
I told him the longer it takes to fix, the worse my review would be. Instead of helping, he runs to Expedia and says I threatened him. Expedia sided with him and let him cancel on me! I could barely see, and suddenly had to find a new place to stay.
Unbelievable. Also — their hallway is always jammed with cleaning gear. Whole thing is a mess. Avoid.
