The room was not clean. The fridge was not cleaned and had hairs...disgusting. The dishwasher was not functioning and had to have a repair undertaken during our stay. The rubbish in the kitchen was not collected during one day.

Stayed a week during AO and had a suite with bedroom and washer/dryer. Location is great for walking and easy access to the tram. Unit was very spacious and had everything needed for an extended stay. Bed was comfortable. The staff were nice and helpful. I would certainly stay here again as it was good value for the money.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Kitchen had everything needed and more. Overall we enjoyed our stay there for 10 days. Location was great, too. I would definitely go back to this place if I ever visit Melbourne again!

Excellent stay - staff, hotel and location.

Check in and out were flawless, room refreshed each day. The one bedroom is roomy with a nice balcony and there is a full kitchen and dining area. It was especially nice to have more space since we stayed for almost 2 weeks.

Oaks on lonsdale good stay

I give it a 3.5 to 4. Nice hotel and good location. Studio apt had a kitchen and large bathroom plus fairly comfortable king bed. It was lacking a chair. No place to sit or eat other than bed. Needs a coat of paint. Beautiful city view. Free washer/dryer is nice if you get the one that works. Party above kept us awake all night on Saturday. Other than that no issues.

Great Location and Idea However Wost Bed EVER!!!!

I had a studio apartment for 2 nights and the location looks a little intimidating when you arrive however it was within walking distance of most things...Upon arrival to hotel staff was friendly and room was small but clean for 1 person it was perfect for 2 would be a little cramped. I was on the 27th floor and views were amazing. I can't imagine if someone was staying in the studio next to me how it would have been as I tried napping upon my arrival and housekeeping was extremly noisy so I made a point of calling to ensure noone was staying in the room while i was there. Management should make a point of turning on air conditioning before arrival as the room was extremely cold and took me for ever to warm up later that day. If anything the Management really needs to invest in new linens and beds i would not stay here again just for that reason probably the worst bed I have slept in since university (which was a long time ago) I think the floor would have been more comfortable and the linens were old and cheap. Overall if you are only in town for a night or two it is a great location but don't bank on a great sleep.

The property was in a great position for China Town, the Greek quarter and for Melbourne Museum.There is a bus stop in front, or the free tram about a 5minute walk from property allowing for easy access to the city and Docklands. Compared to other Oaks properties we have stayed in, this one felt more tired. The kitchen area had lots of cupboard space and there were many appliances, but crockery and cutlery were basic and limited in number. The bathroom looked the most tired. The shower was good and the bath had rails to assist access. The beds were comfy and good wardrobe space. The whole staff group were very welcoming and willing to assist with queries. It was a lovely stay and we would recommend for a short stay.

I have stayed at many Oaks properties and this was one of the worst experiences. Upon arrival, I was advised the room wasn’t ready so I stored my bags. I returned later in the afternoon to check in and was given a room with the wrong bedding arrangement. When I advised staff they told me “Oh we’ll push the beds together, give us 1-2hrs to get it ready”. I said no as it was already 2hrs after check in time and the room we booked should have been ready. We were tired from the flight and did not want to wait another 1-2hrs. We were given a different room, however the wifi access did not work as the room had not been changed to our names. The room itself was outdated, there were holes in the couch and very dirty furniture. The most alarming part was the hairdryer which had a sticker over the switch showing “Danger, do not use!” Which was dated early September 2024. There should not be appliances that are a danger kept in rooms for 6 months. This also meant that the appliances advertised for the room were not actually available. Simple maintenance activities should be kept up to scratch. Upon check out, the staff member was rude and dismissive. I had my luggage stored for approx 1hr and when I returned to retrieve it as I was heading to the airport, she asked me to wait at the door of the storage room and then proceeded to initiate a phone call so I had to wait until she was done. Other than being a convenient location, I would not recommend staying here.

The oaks on Lonsdale was situated in a very good location, close to the tram stop, station, theatre district, dining areas and shopping area. Our one bedroom was spacious and comfortable. We had a very enjoyable stay.
