Excellent option in PD for a small apartment. Stayed here three times now. Staff friendly. Close to the city centre but quiet and clean. This time we were sad that the resident cat was removed from the garden, it was friendly and made the place feel like home from home. The hot water supply could be a bit hotter. But overall it’s a great accommodation option with great people. And a really cute breakfast basket delivered each day.

Staff was lovely and helpful. Accomodations were exactly as shown and very comfortable. Great bed and pillows. Furniture like new inside the room, in lobby and outdoors. Were able to safely store our luggage uppon arrival before chek-in. Free coffee available all day is a plus! We loved the neighbourhood; easy to walk to all main attractions of Ponta Delgada which is a very walkable and safe city. Quiet at night eventhough bedroom window on the street. Great padaria (bakery) next door. Loved the area around the plunge pool to relax and have a glass of wine. We had an issue with the electricity (breaker kept jumping when we plugged in the kettle) but when we reported they were quick to respond. Note there is no elevator. We had a very pleasant stay - highly recommend!

Second time around

We stayed here previously in a suite which was not available on this trip. We had a studio which was nice, but on top floor If I was even 5 years younger it would have been fine. Helpful with parking our rental. There is some free parking close by but it is by luck until 5 pm. Costs €4 to park over 24 hours, which isn’t bad. Lots of great restaurants close by.

This is truly a fantastic place to stay. Stayed her with wife & 2 teenagers in March 2024. Honestly, it would be a mistake not to stay here to fully enjoy the city. Location is perfect, in the downtown centre of ponta Delgada, great for walking anywhere. Parking of course can be tricky during business hours , if you're looking for free close parking, but didn't cause much concern - paid parking is still close by and really reasonable, compared to north American standards. European style breakfast delivered to the door is great, with a good selection of fresh baked local breads, fruit, meat/cheese, yogurt, fresh juice & more, slightly different daily. Just wish there was a coffee machine in the room, rather than instant coffee and a kettle, but the espresso machine in the lobby is close by. Super helpful staff, Leticia at front desk is awesome, and even the resident cat in the garden treats everyone like they're his favourite person in the world. Pretty sure the cat's on the payroll. Thanks to everyone, we'll be back.

I loved staying here!! Great central location with access to many places to visit such as restaurants, shopping and gardens. I loved having a code for access after hours and how the room was waiting for me. I also appreciated having a taxi booked for me when I needed to get back to the airport. And the breakfast was to die for!! So much food I actually had to pack a lot with me which made a great lunch. Would definitely stay here again!! Highly recommend.

We booked one of the smaller suites and it was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our time here. The balcony overlooked the courtyard in the back, and the kitchen had pretty much everything you would need to cook a basic meal. Most units appear to require stairs to access. There are also cats that live on site, and in our unit they were able to jump onto the balcony (we enjoyed this). In the mornings, an excellent breakfast basket was delivered to our door (bread, fruits, eggs, yogurt, milk, juice, granola, etc). In addition, there was a good espresso maker in the lobby. The place is walking distance from downtown locations - perhaps 10-15 minutes from the water front. Parking is a bit of a challenge, although the hotel provided a map of the surrounding streets where there was free and paid parking available. Finding a space may require some driving around, although we found spots were easier to come by in the evenings. If using a paid spot, it is possible to feed the meter after hours and have the payment carry over until the morning. We had a slight issue on our last day where the next days guests were able to enter our room prior to us checking out (apparently they had the same code and figured they would check if the room might be ready early). This may be an area for improvement (perhaps cycle room door codes?). Otherwise a fantastic stay and would highly recommend.

Casa do Contador was well located in Ponta Delgada with all downtown activities within walking distance. The property didn’t feel like it was in the city, with a quaint outdoor space. We loved the cats that roamed around. The room itself was clean and spacious and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay (fridge, sink, iron)

The staff were amazing, they all spoke perfect English and were extremely helpful in booking tours and always gave great advice. We received a food basket every morning, milk ,OJ, granola, breads , jam, yogurt, some meat and cheese, hard boiled eggs, and fruit, as well as a few other items. You also get a list so you can delete items you don’t need the next morning. Short walk to the town. 👍

Amazing hotel, cool vibe and spacious room. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Area is very walkable. Many great restaurants in the area. Breakfast basket delivered each morning was a special touch. The garden was under renovation during our visit, so we look forward to returning once it is completed. Free street parking in the area (we were always able to find a spot). Will definitely return!
