The place is enchanting. With a very nice of of the water and the pods are clean and cute not to mention the relaxing 3 hot tubs availble in the area. Kitchen are cleane and spacious. Overall our stay was an amzing experience

Love the uniqueness of the property. Comfortable yet offers great facilities for cooking our meals. The view of the property is spectacular and nice troll garden.

An enjoyable experience somewhere between a decent hotel and camping. Shared kitchen, bath, and shower areas were clean and everything in working order. We stayed in -20C weather and camping pods were cozy and comfortable. We saw the northern lights both nights. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We only had one meal there—no complaints. Drinks and vinyl in the main house at night are a must for music lovers. The troll walk is is a riot, even for adults! Borgarnes is 20 minutes away and is a great town to explore during the day—just another reason to stay at Fossatun. The Settlement Museum is a must for anyone wishing to learn more about Icelandic history. Narrated headphone tours in lots of languages come with the price of admission. All in all, a great area and Fossatun is a fun and memorable place to stay.

Outstanding location and layout. Beautiful 15 minute drive to grocery stores in Borgarnes. Amazing view from restaurent window seating. Pods were perfect and cozy. The overall cleanliness was great. However, the sturctural design of the wooden second kitchen building has allowed a field mouse to claim residency. Not sure how it survives as there is never any food left out and the garbage is well secured.

Definitely Impressed

Overall our experience was great. Rented a couple linen packages, since it is sleeping bad accommodation and we were mostly staying in guesthouses for the rest of our trip. Pod was very comfortable for the two of us. Hot tubs were a great bonus. Got to see Aurora Borealis on our first night. Fun walks around the area too.

Excellent!

Stayed in small camping pod and loved it. Loved the atmosphere there. Overall, much greater than I expected, and I already was excited for the stay. the restaurant overlooking the waterfalls and river, the troll garden stroll, the hot tubs. All superb. It is in a remote area and provided us an excellent view of the northern lights, which we watched from the hot tub. Ideal experience, I recommend giving it a shot.
