Excellent place to stay for Business

We stayed at the Oakwood during a business trip in April 2019. The hotel was lovely and the stafs were extremely accommodating. Our room was a 1 bedroom suite which was spacious and very clean. The bed/pillows were extremely comfortable. The staff went out of their way to meet every whim, from directions to room service, taxi service and restaurant and shopping recommendations. Location was perfect for walking to all amenities.

I enjoyed my stay at Oakwood Premier Guangzhou. The staff were very helpful before my arrival and during my stay. They always found a staff member who spoke English so I was able to communicate my needs and get timely service. The room was very spacious and clean. Unfortunately the cable was under repairs and the TV was out of service on and off. Also, the room temperature was quite cold. The gym, pool, sauna and jacuzzi were large and not busy. The restaurant food was ok, overpriced for what you get but it was convenient for me.

Excellent, comfortable stay

Stayed here for two nights in early January, and was quite happy with our stay. The property was very luxurious and modern, a proper 5-star. It is a western chain so the front desk staff speaks excellent English and are generally fairly cosmopolitan and sophisticated. (The bellman on the ground floor can use some proper training, but they were friendly and helpful nonetheless.) The location of the hotel was quite convenient, with a few subway stations within walking distance, and many restaurants and shopping options nearby. Our room (on the 33rd floor ) was spacious and very comfortable. The décor was very modern, luxurious, clean and chic. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was of good size and very well designed, with a laundry machine, steam bath function in the shower room. The kitchen was well equipped with nice equipments/flatwares/utencils. The Wifi in the room worked quite well. The hotel has a huge, very well equipped gym, and a beautiful covered outdoor pool. Overall, a great experience, at a very reasonable price!

Very good service from checking in to checking out. The reception and outside staff arranging taxis were exeptional in arranging things for us that we needed. Best service hotel we have ever stayed at - loved the fact we had a kitchen and washer/dryer. Staying in Guangzhou this place is a must!

Nice hotel close to everything

Best part of the room is the washer and dryer, detergent included. Very convenient for us because we are going to another trip after this one and had to pack light. Except machines take forever to finish the cycle. But it's better than nothing . The kitchenette is fabulous with dishwasher, lots of bowls and plates . We ordered from across the street and ate in the comfort of our room. Staffs speaks Cantonese besides Mandarin and English.

Great hotel near everything

First impression was a little strange as the reception is on the 15th floor. The check-in was extremely efficient and friendly. The rooms were exactly as requested, huge by Asian hotel standards. As an added bonus, the rooms all have washer/dryer combo inside, together with the daily supply of washing detergent, it helped us tremendously on our long trip. The gym was large and very functional, a few Technogym pieces, a few treadmills and eliptical, a benchpress bench, two full sets of barbells; everything I needed. Decent size pool on the 14th floor if you like to lap swim. Location wise, it is on a main street which is very busy. It is a block walk to the nearest mall and it is connected underground to the nearest subway station. I never used their restaurant so I cannot comment but the space looks fine to me. We found at least 30 restaurants within 2 blocks of the hotel including two McDonalds (lol, I do need my daily coffee fix and McD appears to the the place with coffee), finding food is not an issue in the area. I like the hotel and will definitely stay there again.

Great Restaurant Options Terrible Internet Speed

Traveled to Guangzhou for business. While I was checking in a gentlemen was at the reception desk complaining about poor internet speed. For the duration of my stay I experienced the same abysmal internet speed. It was ridiculous. If you in town for business this is not a good option.

Scary moment

Our luggages were delay from the airport and our passports were inside. The hotel insists to have either our passports or China VISA or else we can't check in. After a long flight, u would know how frustrating that was. I have my Hong Kong ID and driver license but not enough for them. In the end they made an exception which we were happy to see. We brought our passports to them the next day.

Excellent hotel on the eastern edge of the Tianhe shopping district, with many big shopping malls and dining options within just a few minutes' walk. The hotel itself is very well equipped, nicely maintained and extremely comfortable. We found the beds particularly comfortable and the bathrooms spotlessly clean. Desk staff were polite, helpful and spoke decent English, which is not always the case in China. I would certainly stay at Oakwood Premier again when visiting Guangzhou.

There was a weird sound coming from the aircon hence I called the reception to send someone over to check. It took close to 30 mins for the technician to arrive and I had to call them a 2nd time to expedite as I was rushing to leave the hotel. Issue was fixed. I figured the hotel is just generally old. Housekeeping service was also slow as I had to call 2 times to request for more toilet paper. Overall, stay was mediocre.

Walking distance from a few malls and many restaurants. So many eateries that we were over whelmed with choices. Hotel condition is a little old but for the price is ok. Pub right downstairs for some chilling. Other hotels nearby are more expensive.

Lovely staff

Amazing place - near to great food and shopping. Fairly near to metro. Amazing and very helpful and friendly staff. Only drawback is that the hotel doesn’t have a driveway for cars to pick guests up. So taxis are stopped at the side road (and if it rains, you get wet).
