Very very hot shower

Wonderful and very helpful stay They were all great It’s very hard walk around the hotel since the hole city is on a huge hill We had a few problems with no internet on the third floor where our suite was for the last day so couldn’t see movies Also big problem with the shower with the water being scorching hot and a dribble of cold. They said it couldn’t get fix because of water pressure. So very difficult and almost impossible to shower and we were there 5 nights The last small problem was the toilet seat did not line up with the toilet so you needed to be careful so not to fall in and that couldn’t be fix without tools and complicated Other then that very nice place and nice staff

I liked this property because the staff was very welcoming. I arrived around 10 am and they checked me in immediately and provided a coffee and slice of cake which I enjoyed on the rooftop terrace which offered spectacular views of the harbor. The hotel also provided free breakfast and tips on unique sights to visit such as the sealion resting spot which was not included in the free walking tour I had taken. The staff was exemplary and everyone had some level of english bilingualism. They treated me like a colleague and I was very appreciative. I've read a few reviews that recommend that you should stay in a floor on a higjer elevation. You can actually save money by booking the least exoensive room and enjoyong the views from the terrace. The continental breakfast was delicious. A combination scrambled, eggs, bread, cereal, juice, fruit. The room was very clean and the bed was large king sized and comfortable, the wifi was strong and the bathroom was clean, although there was a bit of mildew in the corners of the shower basin. All in all this was an excellent stay and I would recommend it.

Valparaiso with a view

My husband and I have travelled all over the world and Casa Galos is one of the most unique and interesting hotels we have ever stayed in. The view from our room of this colorful city was spectacular. We had a corner room with a huge window ceiling to floor beside our bed overlooking the street and a smaller window facing down hill towards the ocean. Wow, is all I can say, of this amazing hotel and colorful, city, both full of character. The staff at the hotel were like mini tour guides, providing us with a map and a route to take to enjoy the sites, recommendations for dinner and shopping. On the roof is a small sitting area, with comfortable couches, chairs, cool breeze and spectacular views. A great place to chat and bring up a bottle of wine or beer and appreciate the hills. There are so many restaurants in the area, you can have anything you want, from fine dining to empanada's. Small grocery store just around the corner for bread, cheese and meats, and just down the street within 5 mins, a small store that sells beer and wine as well. Could not have asked for a better location.

Great boutique hotel

Great spot up on the hill in the old part of Valparaiso. Staff friendly with lots of good recommendations. When I mentioned I was going to take the metro they gave me a card to use (had to still load money on it but saved me the initial layout of buying one of the reloadable passcards).

A hidden gem for sure

The staff is outstanding. Great service and eager to give recommendations for restaurants and activities. The rooftop had a great view of the harbour and a nice sitting area to drink wine as the sun goes down.

I loved my stay at Galos

Casa Galos was a very nicely done complete remodel of an old mansion up the hill in Cerro Conception Valpo with a rooftop deck and great view of the harbor, and close to several excellent restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast healthy and fresh. I highly recommend it.
