We had requested a wheelchair accessible room. They accepted our reservation but did not have a w/c accessible room. The bathroom door was very narrow & my husband's manual wheelchair could not fit through it! We asked to speak with the manager & I waited in the foyer for a considerable amount of time. A man, I presume was the manager came to the desk & spoke at length with the desk clerk but did not come to speak with me. Where is the great service we have come to expect when we have stayed there previously??? Won't be staying there again!

Front desk service the worst i have ever experienc

the front desk service was the worst i have ever experienced and the rest of the hotel staff spent more time on their phones and felt bother if you asked them for something, food at the restaurant was good and reasonable prices, however the pool was very dirty, none of the ice machines were working, not enough parking spots and the security guard never bother to asked if you were a guest and simply let everybody in no questions asked. the facility itself is nice, front beach and all but they really, really need to work on their customer service.

Fair hotel in beautiful location

Far from the madding crowds - but this hotel brings its own. Two weddings and a conference on the weekend I was there. Desk staff spoke English but not the restaurant staff and breakfast was ridicously overpriced.

ldeal for a quick getaway

Loved this hotel. Little mini resort. Very cute . Beautiful pool area. Would recommend turning up the heat in the jacuzzi but overall i would definitely return as soon as i can

Not great!

This hotel is in a great location but it is old and shows signs of age. The room was clean I suppose but in poor shape. Bed and linen were very good. This hotel was marginal! The buffet and restaurants were marginal as well. I'm not sure I would stay again, not worth the money.

Terriblbly dated gym old equipment needs eliptical trainers. Get rid of old nasty equipment. Could be spectacular property but need a lot of maintenanc. Bike rental would be nice. Hot water showers would be nice. Staff is friendly but no one can fix problems. They were painting It really needed it. If some things were fixed would give them another try

Poor location and stupid service in San Carlos

The air conditioner was extremely loud, pillows lousy. The location was very distant from other services although the hotel itself is very nice. It was empty and the hotel staff placed us in a room without a view which was stupid of them. Had a pizza in the hotel it was OK. Expensive for Mexico and frankly not worth the charges.

Hotel in need of updates

I think this hotel was in its prime maybe 20 years ago but today is in need of a few updates. The pool has a lot of chipped/broken tiles and does not have any lounge chairs that sit up (all lay totally flat). It also wasn't the best beach area and I don't know if the tide was really high the two days we were there or if it's always like this but there wasn't enough beach area to lay out either. The wifi was really slow and wouldn't load most times and we never had hot water in the shower- always just luke warm. While the staff was great, I didn't think the hotel was a good value for the money and I would stay somewhere different next time I visit San Carlos.

The WiFi didn't work, the sheets weren't clean, the hair dryer didn't work, the walls were covered in mildew and the crowning touch was the morning receptionist. Probably one of the rudest women in Mexico, a country normally filled with lovely lovely people. We would never stay there again.

Was nice once - now very tired!

The lobby and pool area were quite nice. The rooms are awful. Very dated - bath tub rusty. No deck furniture. Linens were like rags. The mattresses had holes in them. Worried about bugs in the mattress. I assume in an effort to save money they turn all the corridor lights out during the day - very dark and unsafe feeling. We were assigned to a room far away from the lobby - due to the fact we have a small dog - they did not tell us that when we called them before booking. They were worried the dog would bark. That quickly became a huge joke as they put us in a room in the middle of a teenage group that had no supervision. The were yelling and screaming and pounding on our door all night. At 6 am when we decided to leave as we had a long drive, they were still screaming in the lobby. At that time the corridors and the entire lobby had all the lights off and was very erie. Staff were setting up breakfast in the dark. This hotel is set in a beautiful location and that is its only good feature. It truly needs an extensive reno in the guest rooms. We were very disappointed.

Beautiful resort

San Carlos is a jewel itself, and the Plaza is the nicest hotel in the area. Beautiful surroundings, very attentive personnel always ready to help, well-maintained resort, directly on a wonderful beach. There is something to do for everyone, from fishing on the pier, to swimming in the nice shallow water, and small trips to nearby tourist attractions such as the pearls' farm and Alamos. It certainly helps if you have a car. We really loved the place and plan returning.

It will do if the price is right

Well on first arrival the room that was given to us was in poor shape , the tub had the appearance of black mold around it , the bed sheets were water stained and a foot laying on the not so clean floor . We suspected the room had been vacant for some time and requested a new room which turned out quite well . People there were very nice and accommodating .

El area de la alberca es agradable. En general el hotel esta muy viejo y muy descuidado. Los cuartos de hotel muy viejos, les hace falta bastante mantenimiento en general a las instalaciones. Poca luz, baños descuidados. La regadera no servia y se tiraba el agua. La plancha del cuarto quebrada. No me volveria a quedar ahi..

The bell hop was terrific. Room service was quick and efficient and very friendly, and the room itself and the bedding was changed daily...very good. Our only issue was the bed frame, wherein one of the legs popped out. Good security on the premises, but we didn't like/understand why we had to wear wristbands (uncomfortable) the entire stay.
