Great view in a great city

Great location on the newer Pudong side of downtown Shanghai. I had a room overlooking the river and the Bund which was very nice at night. Easy walk to the nearest subway station which is only one stop away from Nanjian Street on the other side of the river and less than an hour from the airport.

Wonderful Trip in Shanghai

Not only the hotel is 5 star but the location is awesome, The Bund and The Oriental Pearl Tower are all just nearby in walking distance, you can see the postcard style views in the evening by bund. My son and I also took underground gondola and passed through Hunpu river in 4 mins to visit other side of bund. if you don't see the two views, you miss Shanghai. Food, go to near by ZhengDa Plaza(5 mins walking), tons of Chinese food down the second floor underground, also there is a supermarket.

Great Value, great gym.

Great value for this Huangpu riverside Hotel. Right beside the Pearl tower. Not on the more tourist side of the river, but more business side of the river, however the tourist side is only a 20RMB taxi ride away (10-15 minutes). AMAZING GYM (best I have ever seen in a Chinese hotel)

Amazing hotel, amazing city.

The hotel was amazing. The staff spoke English that was more than sufficient for my visit. It was very clean and welcoming. Hotel room was massive with King Size bed. View of the bund was spectacular.

Oriental Riverside - Good Pudong Location

Superior bund-view room was spacious and well-appointed. Bathroom fan could not be turned off and was noisy. Breakfast was expensive (over RMB 400 for two) for an unexceptional buffet. Staff we encountered were professional but distant. For non-business travellers, the hotel's location is its prime attraction.

Not interested in foreigners.....

The hotel is in a good location, the concierge were very helpful. The lobby coffee/lounge area is very nice with great service and drink quality was excellent, even though a bit pricey. As far as the breakfast/buffet goes, it was disgusting! The cooks very constantly wiping their noses with their hands and in the next motion were handling your food! I mentioned this to the food managers and they seemed to have the attitude that this was okay and why was I complaining! Besides that the quality of the buffet food was substandard. This is the main reason I would not go back. I have stayed at this hotel twice before hoping things would improve but unfortunately they are not interested. I travel 200 days a year. The hotel caters to primarily Chinese government employees and they are not interested in anybody else

Good place to stay

I stay here once a year, as it is attached to the Shanghai convention center. The hotel is nice and close to many restaurants and attractions. There is nothing outstanding about the hotel other than location.
