Staff was great. We had not thought to bring electric converter and were able to borrow a charger. Beach was handy. Coffee Culture next door to hotel had amazing coffee and great conversation. Everything was great.

What a beautiful stay at Sumner Bay Motel. Clean, comfortable and so close to the beach. We rented the 2 bedroom suite which was perfect for our family of four. Hosts Roger and Kay were warm and welcoming. We will definitely be staying here again.

Perfect place to unwind

Close to beach front, walk to pubs and restaurants, was the perfect place to spend end of season. Management quite helpful to get us acquainted with the area and offer suggestions of places to hike.

Great location, relaxing stay

This place has a great location just a block from the Sumner esplanade and walking distance to a dozen or so places to eat. The unit was spacious, functional, and safe. We had plenty of space for all of our stuff and it was a great place to relax and enjoy our time here. It's a bit dated (especially the carpet) but overall was a good place to stay.

Great spot near the beach

Nice and close to the beach. Communication was great and the room had everything needed to cook a small meal. Outside of the busyness of Christchurch, this is a great town to visit and place to stay.
