A perfect jewel!

I found this exquisitely clean studio apartment to be perfectly fitted with all the amenities necessary for my one-week stay. Service here is exceptional, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the property is within walking distance of shopping, the Salamanca Market, and much else. The Bay Apartment Hotel is a wonderful find and I highly recommend it.

Such a cute complex! The room was really big and had everything you need (including kitchen). The front desk staff was SO friendly & helpful even though she was really busy. AND free parking is a bonus in Hobart

The room was great! Clean, with all the amenities we needed for 7 nights, including a good wifi connection and a small kitchen where we could make our own breakfast. It was a short walk to shops and restaurants plus all that we wanted to see in Hobart.

Great for families!!

Fantastic place! Our family of 4 made ourselves at home here. Spotless and comfortable. Great location, with Woolworth's 5min walk away. It felt spacious and cozy at the same time. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen well equipped. Highly recommended.

Great location if you're looking for a base to travel from. A Coles and Wooly within a short walk if you want to pick up groceries. Also lots of local restaurants and a McDonalds. No pool or outside area.

The Studio Room was OK, But Disappointing

We stayed at a studio apartment on the second floor. It has only two hot plates for cooking making it difficult to cook a good meal without switching various pots and pans. It has no air condition, so on a hot day and in an evening making it impossible to sleep. In Melbourne, we stayed at a studio in the CBD and it was great! It was air-conditioned with full kitchen and laundry that we didn't have to pay, so it was a downer after staying Melbourne and expecting similar apartment condition in Hobart. We paid the same price for both.

Convenient Location with a Little Walking

Overall, we are very happy with our stay at Woolmers. We stayed for 2 weeks - one week for a conference and one week for holidays. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating and quick! The location was very convenient being within about 2-3 km of the main attractions such as the Salamanca Market, the Central Business District, Lark Distillery, Cascades Brewery, New Sydney, the Casino, shopping etc. We walked every where. There are also two grocery stores within about a 5 minute walk. On the same street between Woolmers and the grocery stores there are numerous small restaurants and coffee shops. What we particularly liked was that although it was close to everything, it didn't have a touristy neighbourhood feel. The only real complaint that we have is that the room wasn't regularly cleaned during our stay. The one day that I had the do not disturb sign on the door handle they knocked to ask if I wanted towels. Not a big deal. But on 3 or 4 days they didn't tidy the room at all. On two occasions they left stuff in the room like a a bag of garbage and the tray with all the coffees and teas. Again not major. The room looks exactly like it does in the pictures! It was very comfortable and fully stocked. They even had a cheese grater, can opener, pots, plates, utensils, etc. If we go back to Hobart, we will definitely stay here again.

Quiet hotel

Well situated and the Airport shuttle will drop you off right there. Many stores close (Woolworth) and restaurants. 10-15 minute walk to Salamanca and the port area. Only problem was no A/C, thank God that its the fall season so not that hot but in summer could be a necessity.

A very basic and older hotel but better than the YHA Montegomery hostel.

I chose this hotel vs staying at a hostel as I didn't want to have my sleep interrupted as I had just arrived and didn't want jetlag getting in the way of a busy week. I also picked it as there was parking at the hotel. The hotel looks cute on the outside but the only new thing is the bedspread (as shown in the pictures). Everything else include the table, chairs, couch & bathroom were older. I don't know how well they cleaned the bathroom as I found some hairs there. My room had a kitchen with microwave & fridge. This room has no AC but luckily Hobart is cooler than the mainland Australia. It must be located close to a school or university based on the number of students I saw in the area but it is a quiet hotel. There are small independent restaurants and a Woolworth grocery store located within a 10 minute walking distance from the hotel.
