Vacation rentals near Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica

Tanya was the perfect host guiding us to the place and then to delicious food in the area. Her fabulous place had all sorts of snacks, breakfast supplies, and the comfiest beds. It felt like a very high end hotel!!

We have stayed at countless Cahuita rentals. This is our third time in Cahuita....staying a month each time. This by far and away our FAVORITE place to stay. fear of it being booked next time we go, i kind of want to keep how amazing this place is to myself. I can truly say that our 11 days at this place, is the closest i have been to being purely happy. The feeling of being nestled in the trees with the huge numbers of wildlife..so many huge igauanas, toucans, howler monkeys, a sloth. The pool was amazing. I love to swim laps and it was big enough to do that. The lighting at night transforms you into a fantastical getaway. And the hosts are above and beyond friendly, caring and warm. Cleaning occurs twice a week. Oh, and you walk into pretty much a fully stocked kitchen. Truly amazing with so much care and attention put into the place. The most challenging thing about the place was leaving. Makes me question my life in minus 40 and want to sell it all and move to Cahuita. Book here (except for when I want to book it). You absolutely will find a little piece of heaven on earth.

Had a great 10 days at Casa Aragon. Wonderful yard and pool area. Short walk to the black sand beach. Short drive to grocery stores and restaurants. Highly recommended this home

We loved the spaciousness of the suite and it's openness to the surrounding gardens. Beds very comfortable. Wood construction beautiful. Angela and Randy are great hosts. The property is further from the beach than we expected and the road into it is pretty rough. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay for 10 days.

This property is beautiful. The whole excpierence was beyond spectacular. The area is easily accessible to all amenities. The caretakers and owner was super helpful when it came to suggesting places to eat ,shop, and see wildlife. Absolutely loved this place and would highly recommend it to people.

We completely loved our stay here! The setting was lovely—-out of the hub bub of Puerto Viejo, quiet, looking onto a garden, then ocean. While we were there the waves were too big to allow swimming, but there are great swimming areas nearby. We really appreciated the host’s special touches—coffee and filters in site, a few cold beer, wine and chocolate. Beautiful, artisan shampoos and bath gel in the shower. And, the site is gated, so after travelling all around the country, we felt we could exhale, relax and just enjoy. This was a beautiful site to finish off our Cista Rican experience. We are so happy to have found it!!

One of the best. Owners were very friendly and helpful. The place was awesome. It was our first time there and they were gracious with there time helping us with any thing we needed. They set up a ride from San Jose, taxi driver who we used all of the trip. And helped us with our COVID test to get back home. If you ever get a chance to stay here, you will not regret it.

We had flight delays and Erinn and our driver (Tune) made sure we got in safe and sound. The property is amazing and gorgeous. We saw monkeys, sloths, agoutis and tonnes of bird life including Macaws overhead right form the pool deck. The pool kept us and the kids entertained for hours. Locals were super nice, local and PV food was great. Small grocery store 5 minute walk away was perfect. We had some high seas and rain to start and kids got caught in a rip tide at Playa Chiquita--be careful with high seas and young kids. Couple sea urchin spikes and scrathes was the worst of it thankfully. I suggest Playa Uva infront of Accerife restaurant for snorkelling--was quite good considering its relative closeness to a popular beach. Surfing at Cocles was excelllent for beginners----no coral, light waves(when we were there), life guards and no rip tide that we saw. We had no issues with safety, but if you have young kids make sure they understand tight roadways and other bike traffic before even thinking about bike rentals---we opted to walk, cab or bus (adults no problem for biking). If your on a budget Tasty Waves restaurant, street food in PV and the Super market in PV offer your best deals. If you need anything Tune(Erinns preferred Driver) is really awesome, he took good care of us, his family is really nice and we enjoyed a few beers with him on our last night. Only thing I would suggest is if you like to lounge in the sun, maybe bring a couple thin roll up inflatable bed mats---there were no loungers at the property during our stay.
