The place was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by enchanting redwood trees that truly made it feel like a fairy tale setting. The petite guest space, with its own private entrance, had everything we needed for a short stay. The beds were clean and comfortable, and there were plenty of towels and toiletries provided. The bathroom was spotless.While the kitchen didn’t have a full conventional stove, it did include a smaller version that allowed us to cook with no issues. In fact, the kitchen was otherwise well-equipped with modern, high-tech appliances—perfect for preparing a variety of meals.The highlight, though, was the whimsical decor both inside and out. It gave the whole place a storybook feel, as if we had been magically transported into the heart of the forest. A truly unique and memorable stay!

My friends and I were quite impressed. Everything you need with stores close by (really close) to pick up the essentials. Jennifer was a great host, answered any questions or concerns I had in a quick and timely matter. I loved sitting on the front stoop in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee, and was visited by some Momma peacocks with their babies.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at this beautiful apartment. The kitchen was fully stocked, beds were comfortable and the view was spectacular. We were a family of four (2 adults/2kids) staying in the area for a wedding in Trancas Canyon. It was the perfect location. We had some issues heating the hot tub, but we got it figured out by day 3. We would definitely book here again!

The property met all of our expectations and exceeded some. Kenny was easy to deal with. Truly one of best properties we have visited.

This property was exactly as described. My family had a great time and enjoyed our proximity to the ocean and the Balboa Pier. Check in was easy and Jessica answered any questions I had very promptly!

If you are intrigued by the photos and description of The Bluebird Retreat, the place is even better in person! Such a quiet, secluded sanctuary with breathtaking views. The cottage was so well appointed- Lara has thought of everything. We used it as a home base while we enjoyed hiking in the area. It is spotless and comfortable. Whether you are soaking in the hot tub or sitting by the fire pit enjoying fantastic local wine, you can’t help but be relaxed. We loved to watch such a variety of birds and wildlife too. Lara was very attentive and was always available b
