Fossato di Vico-Gubbio Station vacation rentals

Our time in Assisi at this property exceeded our expectations. The apartment was lovely and the roof top was a very nice bonus. The apartment is centrally located and services/restaurants are all very close. The town is charming and the apartment provided us with the old world experience with modern conveniences. Our host was excellent and vary responsive to our needs.

We stayed at GRAN PANORAMA from Sep 26 through to Nov 16. The views out over the valley are stunning, and ever changing with the light throughout the day. We have travelled extensively and can say we have never found a better patio to sip wine, read a book or just chill and enjoy the vistas. The drive up and down the mountain was a bit intimidating at first but soon became an enjoyable experience. The owners (Stefano and Anna) thought of everything to ensure the Villa was fully equipped, and checked in with us often to see if we needed anything. The property is ideally situated for “day tripping” to the hilltop towns in Umbria. The seven glorious weeks we spent at GRAN PANORAMA flew by and we are now planning our return for next year. We have been to Italy 3 times, always rented villas, and this villa ,Domus Clara is the best, outstanding property, the owner Luisa is fantastic and caring, always responding to any tiny issue we had, we definately recommend this villa to anyone. The villa is located on a hillside, overlooking a beautifull Umbria Valley, olive trees, etc. We enjoyed the infinity pool every day, always eating outside, for bbq, and especially the wood fired pizza, which we really enjoyed, our first experience making authentic pizza. This large, magnificent 500-600 year-old house has been lovingly restored. It is very clean and has 5-6 bedrooms each with its own bathroom. Nestled in the Umbrian hills, the house overlooks a pastoral valley of fields and forests of oak and olives. Bells from the distant hilltop church across the valley chime on the hour. The view is amazing and so is the pool. The owner, Matteo, is super-friendly and down-to-earth. He genuinely wants guests to have a great experience in Umbria. He arranged a wine and olive-tasting self-tour in the region for us. He generously showed us around Perugia and took us for a tour of the fascinating Collegio del Cambio museum, where the Master of Raphael, 'Perugino' painted some marvellous frescos. Also, he offers an Umbrian supper experience - his mother came and cooked us an incredible multi-course traditional supper, which was lots of fun and highly recommended. All-in-all, the house is comfortable, beautiful and in a magnificent location (for us: countryside and quiet). Matteo is a genuinely nice person, friendly and generous with his time. We had a great stay and I highly recommend staying here.
