The courage was really nice and we'll equipped. It was traditional Japanese style of bedding and dining seeing. Sleeping was not a problem although you have to move the table and setup two mattresses in the living room every night. For westerners the lack of proper chairs may be a problem. It's fun for one night as a novelty and to experience the local culture but after that is just not comfortable.
If you're planning to go skiing at Kiroro, take note that the direct road is closed for the winter. You have to take a detour through Yoichi which makes it a 1h20min trip.
