Kingsland vacation rentals

Sean was absolutely fantastic. There was some initial discrepancy in the reservation, but he bent over backwards to make everything work for us. He met us at the apartment, showed us around, and volunteered to be reachable if we needed anything. But there was nothing to need! The apartment is modern and spacious, with superb light and a long view. It is also very secure with multiple security features in the building. Everything appears very new -- the mattresses are great. The apartment was very quiet and felt very private, yet it is just half a block to "K Road", a major road linking to the downtown area (you can walk to the ferry dock in under a half hour, but uber is also everywhere and it's about $9 to get downtown). There are numerous restaurants and coffee shops just around the corner -- we really enjoyed Le Vietnamese in particular, with its outdoor patio. The apartment has a lovely sheltered deck with high end furniture. There is a really quite large swimming pool 3 minutes from the apartment, with views out to the city centre. There is also a workout facility, a well fitted out one, on the same floor as the apartment (which is basically like the second or third floor). There's good laundry facilities in the apartment, and two bathrooms both with roomy showers. In sum, this was a real "find" and we recommend it enthusiastically!

Host was very helpful prior to arrival and after. The accommodations are well appointed, however we were asked to cook outside as the area the host has set up for cooking does not have ventilation. Not an issue for us with the weather but worth knowing if you visit during the rainy season. The host lives upstairs and is quite engaged which is great if you want a lot of correspondence but some may find different than the usual experience. They have laundry which was great but host frequently using for other properties they owned and this sometimes limited our ability to use the facilities even though they are listed as an amenity. Even though the property is located near a major motorway it was very quiet and this should not deter booking. There is good access to transit and parks nearby and parking was also available.

The location was fabulous and the building was upscale, secure and comfortable with nice amenities. The apartment was well equipped with kitchen appliances, dishes etc. It was clean on the surface but some areas were neglected. There were several frustrating issues of miscommunication. Our booking was for 8 days but Houst insisted we were booked for only 7 but could pay for an extra day. They did nothing to resolve the issue until we contacted VRBO and they communicated with Houst on our behalf. Because we were coming from overseas and travelling overnight with an early arrival, we asked for an early check in and VRBO confirmed. Houst would not honour the early check in time until 24hours prior. Apartment description included access to internet but none was available. We were notified that it was temporarily down, but there was no attempt to fix the problem and it appeared to not be available for some time. This left us ‘stranded’ and unable to communicate with family etc. until we could purchase SIM cards and data plans. After several phone calls to VRBO and Houst, we were reimbursed for our SIM cards and data plans. In the end, we enjoyed our stay, despite the frustrations.
