Vacation rentals near Rock Lake

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rocky Mountain Escape. We were greeted warmly by our hosts and made to feel at home right away. Staying in the dome is the perfect balance between glamping and total comfort. The bed was comfortable and everything within and without the dome was perfectly appointed. Gary explained all the features of the dome patiently and efficiently. He also pointed out all the great hiking trails on site as well as the surrounding area. All the amenities, from the propane griddle to the fire table were such a fun treat. AND THE VIEW!!! WOW! Star-gazing will never be the same. Nothing beats laying in bed and looking up at the sky through the sky window of the dome. 360 views of the forest and wildlife from the comfort of a cozy chair. Staying at the Rocky Mountain Escape dome was a treat. We are already planning when we can return.

We could not have been happier with our stay, and we were honestly disappointed to have to leave. The journey was part of the fun as you venture to the property you really get a sense of just how deep in the wilderness you were getting. The drive was quite easy, the instructions provided by The Walkers were spot on and Google maps also worked quite well (follow it all the way until you see the wooden Rocky Mountain Escapes sign, then turn to that instead). Gary gave us a perfect tour of the property including some amazing insight to hikes in the area. We ended up doing a 9.5km down the river towards a nearby mountain and it was stunning. The cabin was extremely comfortable, stunningly clean, and equipped with more amenities than we expected, very good hot water. Everything with the stay was absolutely lovely and we can't wait to come back.

We had a group of 8 families (15 adults and 12 kids) stay. It was perfect for us! Plenty of room, comfortable beds, and a huge kitchen (3 Full fridges plus full size freezer and a huge drink fridge) The cabins also had mini fridges. Would absolutely go back again. Location is beautiful, about 40 min on the gravel road (in good shape most of the way), but totally worth it. Thanks to the owners for renting out the entire space so we could have this unforgettable holiday!

The simplicity of the setup was actually a huge part of its charm! One of the highlights for us was the peaceful mornings—waking up to the sound of birds, stepping outside to fresh, crisp air, and enjoying coffee. It's the perfect place to disconnect from the busy world and reconnect with nature. The surrounding area is a nature lover's dream—there are trails for hiking, a nearby stream, and plenty of wildlife to spot. The remoteness of the location made it feel like a true escape. If you're looking for a remote getaway to unplug, unwind, and enjoy nature, Rocky Mountain Escape is the ideal spot. We can't wait to return!
