Vacation rentals near Funchal Sacred Art Museum

What an absolute fantastic apartment, excellent location, very very clean, responsive Owner answered all our questions quickly. The view from the balcony was amazing! Easily accessible to many restaurants. The promenade, where you can walk along the beach, is just in your backyard. We loved our stay there and would definitely recommend.

10-10 is not a sufficient score to describe this amazing Villa. It’s a mini mansion. The pictures on the VRBO listing do not do the property justice. Spotless, impeccable, vast, views to die for … what else can I add. Within walking distance to the heart of Funchal. Yes, there is the mandatory walk down and up a hill, typical of Funchal. We loved this property. Our host Filomena is an angel. She welcomed us as if we were family. The bottle of wine and farm fresh eggs provided were a gift from the heart. We felt at home and awestruck from the moment we walked into this wondrous home. The only downside, we wish we would have stayed longer. Do not hesitate to book and stay here, I pray we will be able to be back next year. Truly amazing stay.

This villa was a wonderful choice for 5 friends to spend time in Madeira and to get away from the snow in Canada. The weather in February was a little disappointing but the villa had all amenities to keep us happy. The pool was too cold for us old ones while we were there but would be lovely in warmer, drier weather. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking but we did very little catering for ourselves as we ate out in the restaurants around Madeira. There was plenty of space to spread out and socialize in the common areas. Udo kept in touch with us on WhatsApp before the trip answering our questions and was at the villa to meet us when we arrived and made us all feel very welcome. There was fresh fruit and drinks as a welcome basket. Udo even gave us a trip around Caniço to show us the shopping areas and restaurants. Garajau is a short 12 mins ride to Funchal on a fast road. We often used a taxi. With our rental car we explored the whole beautiful island. It is an easy 5 min drive to the motorway from the villa where you can travel all around Madeira island. The villa is beautiful, gardens neat and colourful. And the view over the Ocean is unbelievable. We had a wonderful time and hope to return in the future to experience more of Madeira and its hospitality. Thanks Udo for making your villa available to us.

We stayed in the “Casa das Vinhas” From January 25 to March 8, 2023 – Yes, 6 weeks! Lucky us! We thoroughly enjoyed the property. We are walkers; we walked over 600 km while we were in Madeira, so the location was ideal for us as it gave us a chance to warm up walking to the old town in the morning and a chance to finish off our days with a walk back up to the casa. The building itself suited our needs very well. It felt safe, secure, and peaceful and allowed us to relax and enjoy the tranquillity among the banana plants, amid the birds and butterflies and with visits from the 2 friendly dogs. The property managers were quick to respond to any minor issues as they came up and were a pleasure to meet. The housekeeper did an excellent and thorough job and the towels and bed linens are top quality. We cooked about 60% of our meals at the casa and had pretty much everything we needed, including the barbeque, which we did make use of. We never really figured out how to do more than just microwave with the oven but didn’t really need it anyway. Few rental units in Funchal have any form of central heat and we experienced some cold nights in January and early February. We made good use of the electric heater and hot-water bottle some nights! Other than those few nights, we were fine without a source of heat. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay!
