A miner's cottage from 1750 lovingly and respectfully renovated, blessed with a terrace with an unforgettable view.The owner was very affable and generous with his help (bringing my suitcase up the pathway) and his tips on points of interest. I hope to go back in the not too distant future.

Two great weeks in Matlock

Thanks for the lovely 1 bedroom flat near the main park in Matlock. It was super clean and the host kept in touch when we had questions. The parking space was too small for our rentalSUV but we managed to find street parking each night. We would definitely come back.

Feeling spoiled the three Peak District

If you want a beautiful and authentic experience in the British countryside, This. Is. the. Place. The cottage is immaculately clean and has absolutely everything you would need. The bed is super comfortable, the view is breathtaking, and the neighborhood is so peaceful and quiet. If ever I have the privilege of coming to England again, I would reserve this property in a heartbeat, but for longer next time. Monday to Friday only really gave me three full days and I could have spent longer. Everything you might want to see in the park is really close by. Chatsworth park is just a 20-25 minute walk away through the beautiful village and trails. I went early in the morning and saw lots of beautiful deer just relaxing in the park with the sheep. If you want to see the peak district this is the perfect base. You would not be disappointed if you reserved this property. Just a note: I love the stairs because they're a part of the cottage charm, but the bedroom and bathroom are upstairs and the stairs would be tricky/impossible for someone with mobility issues. I just thought of it because my mom uses a cane sometimes and would not have been able to do the stairs if she were with us. Thank you so much, Liz, for the use of your beautiful cottage and your attention to detail.
