The house was clean & quaint, with shutters and tiled and wooden floors but all the modern amenities e.g. fridge washing mashing dishwasher etc. it was in such a great central location, near to everything. Our host was easily contactable and kind enough to leave some provisions to start off our holiday.I had a month there and plan to go back so that says it all.
The villa was not what we expected...It was much much more than we expected. A cosy traditional villa in a quite suberb of Altura. The villa was so welcoming from the minute we arrived. It has literally everything you could wish for if you want an away from it all peaceful holiday with friends or family. The pool area is particularly wonderful with an outside bar and fridge freezer and plenty of sitting and eating areas. The supermarket (ALDI) is a 5 minute walk away and so is all the restaurants and beaches which are massive. I can't praise this villa enough...you will not be disappointed. Thank you Marco and and Nuno for letting us stay.
We had such a special time at this beautiful and spacious farmhouse. Very close to Fabrica, Cacela Velha, and Cabanas beaches.
It was so quiet and peaceful.
We throughly enjoyed a magical horse riding experience at the Tavira equestrian which takes you through orange and avocado groves.
This is situated within the farm grounds.
We would highly recommend staying here and hope to return soon.
We had a lovely few days in this perfect little property. It has everything you would need for a comfortable stay to explore the surrounding area. We had such a relaxed stay and Bertoli and his wife were perfect hosts... we looked forward to our daily gifts of cake or fruit!!! Totally recommend staying here and hope to get the chance to do so again. Many thanks. 💕
We had a wonderful 5 nights. Our little house could have easily slept 6. It was typically rustic country living and had all the amenities that we needed. We even had a covered parking area for our car to keep it cool. The pool was set in a lovely little garden with loungers and it was our personal haven especially as we hit the heat wave and most days it was in the 40's. The pool was our go to place when we arrived back from our daily jaunts. We were a 15 minute drive from a large Lidl store which had all the food items we needed and more. We drove into Tavira, a short 15 minute drive, each night to enjoy the many restaurants that lined the river. Really recommend you visit there. It is touristy but has a lovely vibe about it. We could have ventured further each night but we were happy to always return and find another great eating place. Each night on our drive home we could see many tiny owls perched on fence posts. If you want away from it all rustic Portugal, this is for you.
Whilst linens & crockery were clean enough, there were cobwebs in several areas....
Grounds are in need of attention as is roof terrace sunbeds - unfortunately both broken and with stained pads.
Apart from above, comfortable enough home, which, with a bit more tlc and general upgrading could be fabulous
Lovely historic house right in the centre of town. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchen were very modern and well equipped. It was useful to have some cupboard items such as coffee etc. It was quiet even though was in the middle of town. The owner was helpful when we had problems with the key. One of the fans in the small bedroom did not work but I'm sure it would have been sorted out if we had contacted the owner.
