We were met on arrival by our charming hostess, Nicole, after following her helpful telephone guidance to her property. It is a spacious two bedroom house on the north bank of the Lot river, enjoying sunshine on the veranda, from dawn to dusk. It contains everything one could need by way of furnishing and fittings, to live, eat and sleep in great comfort, including Wi-Fi. We bought only food and drink during our holiday. We "stayed at home" for two days, simply relaxing in the sunshine and living "la vie francais", however the banks of the Lot and the surrounding hills have many attractive towns and villages to visit, and we did. The views are spectacular, east over the Lot to the forests beyond and westward up to Saint Cirq Lapopie, one of "Les plus beaux villages de France". We spent many hours up there, walking around marvelling at both the original constructions and renovations and recent preservation work. And, of course, enjoying the food and wine, especially at Restaurant Lou Bolat, sitting atop the village, looking down along the river. A magical setting for dinner with generous portions and not expensive. Try the Magret de Canard, Cassoulet or Entrecote de Boeuf. The starters and deserts are equally enjoyable. It was a wonderful week for us, made complete by the kindness and geniality of Nicole and her husband Alex. We were very sad to leave and hope we can return someday, perhaps next summer. We had a great stay at the property owned by Sarah and Simon. It has everything you need for a super holiday - the gite looks brand new and is spotless inside - the kitchen has everything!!. Sarah and Simon are great hosts and came to our rescue with some local knowledge when we had a puncture not far away. We would love to stay here again if we are in the area

We spent a week at Serge and Michelle's lovely gite as a family of 5 (grown children of 15, 19 and 20). The house was lovely, had everything we needed and in a super beautiful setting. Just a 3 min drive from the river beach at the bottom of St Cirq Lapopie, Peche Merle caves about 15 mins away and lots of things going on locally as it was July. Our hosts only spoke French but we worked it all out and they were very warm and welcoming.

Character property in a friendly, quiet, small village. The property was well equipped and clean. It was centrally located for exploring the Lot Valley and surrounding area.

I can highly recommend staying. The cottage is set in a nicely secluded and quiet area. You are only 15 minutes from two awesome bakery and shops, and the cele river. Diving off the cliff at cabrerets is a must! The cottage itself is very unique. Arnaud (the owner) crafted most of it himself out of wood and it has a really nice feel. The bed for comfy, bathroom was great too. Kitchen and living area have everything you need for a relaxing stay. Outside you have tables, chair and parasol if you need it for dining outside. There are some sun lingers too. Then there is Arnaud the owner. He is so kind and relaxed. If you need him he is a minutes walk away in his own house. He also has an amazing dog, Peter. Arnaud has four cats, two goats, two horses and Peter the dog. The animals have their own enclosures away from the cottage so you won't see or hear them unless you choose to go and see them. Bring some carrots if you want to make friends. All the animals were rescued by Arnaud and his love for them and all animals shows. This all adds to the great energy of the property and i cant wait to go back. Arnaud speaks great english too if your french is not so good. He will tell you it's not great but it is :) Overall, well worth a visit. Its a great base for exploring the area and for unwinding.
