Holiday rentals near Marcel Pagnol House

The apartment was in a superb location with good transport links to the city, but the star was Nelly the host who went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was very welcome and the view from the balcony was brilliant.

Excellent property, clean; a quick walk in to the pretty port area of Cassis. Lovely walks around the Calanques can be started from the property. Flavio was a wonderful.host, he met us personally when we arrived and was very knowledgeable and helpful. 100% recommended.

Following three days in Aix we picked up a hire car in Marseille and headed to Cassis for a week. Communication in advance of arrival was great and we were greeted promptly as agreed and shown where to park and then into the property. The apartment is large, comfortable, superbly equipped and has a great arty/academic/boho feel to it, all of which would give it a five star rating. The balcony and the view from it dial that up even further. Barring a slightly feeble AC unit there is literally nothing to fault. Handily placed to walk into the port, old town and beaches yet still private and quiet. We were able to visit Toulon, Arles, Avignon and Marseille but the twin highlights were the Calanque boat trip and the drive over the Route des Crêtes to La Ciotat and back. Cassis is very French and all the better for that. You couldn’t stay anywhere better without booking in to the 5-star hotel around the corner at significantly increased cost. Merci beaucoup. A wonderfully relaxing stay in Roquevaire. Lucia was very welcoming and kind. Her place is homely and comfortable. We loved being in such a tranquil spot away from the crowds. The salt water pool is beautiful, outside kitchen perfect and the air con meant we could sleep! It was half an hour by car to Cassis and Aix. Would certainly recommend..

We would thoroughly recommend a stay here. The apartment was perfect for us. Lots of space for two people and very well equipped. The highlight was the outside space. In addition to the garden there was a terrace with seating and a covered area for outside dining so we spent a lot of time relaxing there. It’s more than a 15 minute walk into the centre of town but the local bus service was very good and there is a stop less than 5 minutes from the apartment (see La Metropole Mobilité app). Finally, Jean Jacques was the perfect host. We will be back!

This property has the most beautiful views and is a wonderful base from which to explore this lovely part of France. There are many interesting villages and sea side towns to visit. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The pool area is beautifully designed and looks great at night when lit up. The property is well equipped and the A/C helped to keep us lovely and cool throughout the night. I would definitely book again . Thank you

This little house is as described, clean, comfortable and very well equipped, Edith and Jean the owners were there to greet me and explain everything and when a heavy thunderstorm took the internet out they were quite prepared to come and fix it, thankfully it righted itself and there was no need. I have rated the area as a 4/5 simply because as others have stated it is little industrial and not as pretty as some other quintessential French villages, however don’t let this put you off, you are close enough to Marseille to enjoy it, but far enough away to ignore it, there is plentiful transport links if your prepared to walk a short way and the local shops are enough to fill your cupboards stocked. I would heartily recommend this property and would have no qualms in returning if I want to return to this area again.
