Really lovely singlelevel apartment with excellent facilities. Ideal for touring the area. Lots to see around and about. You will need a car. Also steep steps and a slope to the pool and portico. Fridge and loo down there mean a pool day is possible. Loved it.

Monte das Pedras offers such spatial accommodation with a fabulous outdoor kitchen and relaxing area that it is hard not to use superlatives throughout the review. What also sets the home apart, is the brilliant hospitality offered by Angelina and Jaime. They pay attention to the small details in the home, garden and pool. They were extremely helpful and were the perfect hosts everybody wants on a family holiday - invisible but available - and oh so pleasant. We used the outdoor oven and made pizza in it. It was fun and successful, with some guidance on oven use from Jaime. The barbecue was perfect and, as the local supermarket offered prepared kebabs, fish etc, home preparation was minimal. A well stocked kitchen made life so much easier and the flexible outdoor seating worked perfectly for 6 adults. The dining table was a perfect size for our evenings of board games/cards. All the seats were comfortable and absolutely all the wonderful facilities made for a perfect stay. Thank you to Angelina and Jaime for everything. We wish you every success and much happiness.

Victor and Maria Penela have built this place up over 30 years, and it had everything we could possibly want. We knew the swimming pooling looked good, but the little chill-out hut with water-cooler was icing on the cake. We were grandparents, two sets of children and three grandchildren. Victor and Maria could not have been more accommodating, from letting us arrive early and providing a slap-up lunch to get us started, to letting the grandchildren feed the chickens and hold the baby rabbits (!) and being very relaxed about when we left on the final day. The rooms were all spacious and clean and well fitted out; there were piles of glasses, plates, etc., and basically two kitchens. And we hadn't realised there was a large trampoline and petanque court. Something for everybody, and totally safe and enclosed. The area too is full of interest, from the charming hill of old Ourem with its castle, to the magnificent Convento do Christo at Tomar, and the monastery of Batalha not far away, plus the popular but relaxed river beach at Agroal. So much better than being stuck at the seaside in high season. And by our second week we had respectable local restaurants to ourselves. I'd say it was our best family holiday ever. We were a group of 12 ( two families ) - The Villa was great , comfy beds , lots of update to date bathrooms. Enough seating and large table , where we BBQ every night and played games . For us the icing on the cake was the lake and our own private pontoon . We paddle board every day and loads of water equipment was available . Will we be back - oh yes !
