Holiday rentals near Thara Park

Thara Bayview Villa is an amazing place to stay. It's about 15 minutes walk to the seafront with it's many attractions but far enough out to be totally peaceful (apart from the regular calls to prayer from the local mosque, which are broadcast round the whole area on loudspeakers, but are not too intrusive). The views from the pool, some bedrooms and lounge are spectacular, over the whole bay and sea, particularly at sunset. The property does have a very steep driveway and may not be suitable for anyone not able to walk up a steep slope (some taxi drivers were willing to drive to the top, but others were not due to the incline).The villa itself is very clean and regularly serviced (including the pool which was superb). Some of the fixtures and fittings are showing their age, but this is in character with the villa. Air con in the bedrooms is new and works well. The lounge area can be too warm on occasion although there are ceiling fans and is okay once you become acclimatised to the heat.Overall the villa is in a great position, with plenty of space and no overlooking properties, and although the pictures give a good and true representation, you can't appreciate how lovely the place is until you arrive and see it for yourself.Many thanks to the owners, cleaners, trip arrangers and managers who made our stay a brilliant experience.

A good, immaculate and spacious holiday home. We enjoyed relaxing there and made good use of the tuk tuk service to Ao Nang beach. Great place for a family stay.

This 2 bedroom villa was clean, spacious, well-equipped, as in the description. In fact there was more than we expected because the second bedroom has its own toilet/basin/shower, which was a bonus. Also, the two bedrooms are at opposite sides of the house, making it suitable for say two couples to share whilst retaining relative privacy. There is a large kitchen dining area in the middle of the house and a large living room at the front. For the sitting area on the front decking, a fan & mosquito coils to burn when needed were provided. These worked very effectively and hence made it lovely spot to sit out in the evening, overlooking the nicely kept gardens and pool, tastefully lit with coloured lights. The swimming pool was a real bonus and although quite small, was actually plenty big enough for all 3 of us to swim at once. WiFi & aircon were absolutely brilliant, I have to say! We’ve stayed in many places round the world and these two things often don’t work as well as advertised. Here however – fantastic! The location of the villa is a little remote and it is definitely too far to walk to / from Ao Nang, but Chris & Bee offer a lift into town (or to the local beach) once a day and a Tuk Tuk is 300 Baht to get back again. Alternatively, scooter hire is cheap and readily available, which was the option we chose. Considering this, we thought the location was actually great. There is a very small shop about 300m away that sold eggs, tins of tuna, crisps, snacks, soft drinks etc. and several larger food shops within only a short drive. Although, Chris & Bee made sure we had all the basic provisions that we might need for the first day or so, so no need to shop immediately. Chris & Bee were excellent and attentive hosts and were always available and willing to help with whatever we needed.
