An excellent cottage in a lovely location

A perfect week in a peaceful location. The cottage is lovely. Well equipped, clean, good wifi, and lots of communal space for gathering, inside and out (and an amazing DVD collection according to our film buff family member!). Games room and table tennis were great fun in an evening and the large dining table perfect for board games as well as eating. A spacious garden with various seating areas and the icing on the cake-the sauna hot tub. Nothing better than relaxing in the tub with only the sound of the breeze in the trees and the occasional baa! We love DG for its varied, beautiful landscapes and wildlife. So much to do locally and having distilleries and 2nd hand bookshops so close was amazing.

You don't have to think about anything - the hosts have thought of everything

Staying at Rockpool cottage is a pleasure. Everything you need for a few days is there, right where you need it. And you are thoughtfully hosted from the moment you book. Communication with the hosts is straightforward. The instructions are simple and the interactions helpful and considerate.On arrival you find an eleganty decorated and well thought-out property. The living rooms are comfortable; the kitchen is well-equipped with thoughtful provision of tea, coffee, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, salt, pepper, oil; the bedrooms are homely; the bathrooms sleek; and the garden inviting. There are books, games, and a smart TV. It's all easy.And the quiet triumph in a cottage that isn't looking to draw attention to itself is the decor. The colours of the sand, the rock, the sea, the surf and the hills are used throughout, gently tieing you to your surroundings.All that leaves you with nothing else to think about other than how you'll relax and explore the surrounding coast, towns, villages and countryside.

Spacious welcoming cottage

The property is much more spacious than described and is well appointed for an extended stay. The fixtures and fittings are of good quality and there is everything provided that you could need.It is located in a very quiet area, you do need transport to move around but local amenities are only a short drive away. Stunning area with lots to see.

Amazing house in a stunning location

I cannot overstate how fantastic this property is. Myself and 8 friends spent a week here over New Year and we had an incredible time. The house is beautiful inside and out, containing absolutely everything you might need. It's a short walk away from a pub, cafe and shop but also remote enough to feel completely peaceful. The hot tub is a great feature, as is the cabin and games room. The host was easily reachable and always on hand to offer recommendations for local activities which was hugely appreciated. If you're considering booking this property, don't hesitate. You won't regret it.

The View and Andy

The property is light and spacious, with everything you probably need. Out host, Andy, was usually in the vicinity because of other interests (especially The Hive cafe next door). Andy was very friendly, with time to chat and check everything OK. Catch him over a pint in the excellent Harbour Inn (only 5 doors away) if you can. Recommend the food in both pub and cafe.
