We traveled to Maine to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary looking for a perfect peaceful getaway and found it in this carriage house! We absolutely loved our stay in Gouldsboro. Has everything as described and more and only a few steps from the water. Enjoyed the sunrise views from every window. We have stayed at many places with Home/Away – VRBO over the years but this place was by far the cleanest and the most tastefully decorated with all the charm of New England. Plenty of places to choose from to dine at or take out. We enjoyed exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, under an hour away. We are already planning a return visit for next year! If you are looking for a perfect peaceful getaway for two, this is it. Thank you again Bonnie & Mark for sharing your beautiful place!

We had a wonderful stay at ‘On the Rocks’. The house was everything promised! We enjoyed watching the sunset on the deck, drinking beer by the warmth of the brazier and canoeing on the lake. The house itself was very well appointed and warm. WiFi worked well. We were so sad to leave!!

Excellent cabin and location. Difficult to get range of groceries once passed Ellsworth so stock up early. Good bakery outside of Winter Harbor. Weather was bad 3rd june 7 nights either raining, fog or heavy cloud so not exploring weather .

My family and I had a wonderful stay. The property is right on the water. Incredibly beautiful views. I went swimming every day (water was great but a bit on the colder side). A bald eagle came and landed in the trees by the house and ate his lunch (a fish). Not far from Bar Harbor and close to Acadia national part visitors center.

We just left Caddo North and had the most wonderful holiday. The house is even better than we expected. So light and open with views over the bay. Inside we had everything we needed. I was able to bake and cook for us and didn’t want for any kitchen utensils. The beds are very comfortable and everyone pretty much had their own bathroom/toilet (we are a family of 4). We enjoyed having our morning coffee out on the rocks at sunrise and sitting on the balcony watching the sunset over the bay. We watched seals, bald eagles, chipmunks, humming birds and a variety of seabirds in the bay. If you didn’t want to leave the house you could have a very chilled holiday right there. In the surrounding area there is plenty to do - bike hire at Acadia, hiking, boating, lots of lobster eating and whale watching. We actually drove to Campobello and watched humpback whales from the shore! Hilary was super helpful if we needed anything and sent me lots of information before we got there so we could plan a few activities. I highly recommend Caddo North!
