Lovely accommodation in a great locationThe apartment was great for the two of us with everything we needed; including a gorgeous private outdoor space to watch the sunset and a washing machineOur host was incredibly helpful and charmingThe apartment was a great base for us to explore the local area: beaches, the National Park, the old town and harbour. It was only a short train journey to the fantastic Greek ruins - who knew - at Paestum (6 mins) and the port of Salerno (40 mins)One day we did a coastal walk, which starts near the apartment, through the Park to the town of Santa Maria di Castellabate - great sea views - and caught the bus backWe arrived by train from Naples and didn't have a car. The lovely countryside setting of the property means it is slightly outside the town. Would definitely stay again and hire bicycles or a car
We had a great time in Agropoli. On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly owner, Franco, and although we were earlier than the check-in time, everything was ready so he allowed us to check in early, which was very kind. The accommodation was fantastic and had everything we needed. The kitchen and living area was comfortable and well equipped. We had the luxury of two bathrooms which made a big difference when we were all (2 adults and 2 children) trying to get ready to out. The rooms benefited from AC which was very much appreciated after long hot days out. We all loved the pool and used it on most days. Although being just a couple of minutes walk from the main restaurant area of Agropoli and near a road, we never felt like it got too noisy when sitting under one of the lemon trees or by the pool. We hope to return and explore the area some more and when we do so we would be more than happy to stay here again.
We had a lovely holiday in this great location. It is a very family orientated place. We were the only Brits, which we liked. It is a beautiful area with lovely villages. The site was lovely and clean. The staff and Alfonso the owner were very helpful. The pool was lovely and not crowded and there was an adjacent garden area with tables that isn't really seen in the photos. The town is a short walk away and we walked there or to the beach every day, usually more than once, except when we were out on day trips. My favourite free beach is right in town, Spaggia di Marina Piccola. It is where you will find lots of Italian families from early morning. I went for a quick swim there several times. There are lots of lovely restaurants and shops to buy regional food and fresh fish. The town is very welcoming and friendly. I would love to go back. If you are interested in a sailing trip on Alfonso's own boat, you might want to ask about details before you arrive so that you can plan for it. We took day trips to Amalfi (car then ferries), Pompeii and Napoli.
The house is as described and as shown in the photos. Our two small children loved the long sandy beach that is essentially at the end of the (50m) drive. Fortunately neither of them showed any particular interest in the steep spiral wooden staircase in the dining room (which has no side rails but does have a gate at either end - though the top bolt needs repair). The house has all the kit that you need (but microwave would be helpful) - we enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the sunset over the sea and the Amalfi peninsula and eating outside every evening (including from the BBQ).
Santa Maria is a lovely town with all the shops and services that you need. This part of Italy is a bit of a hidden gem and the house itself is lovely. Donatella was very welcoming and home cooked meals can be arranged and delivered to the house.
