Situated five kilometres (three miles) from Pola de Siero, the regional capital of Siero. Careses proudly displays its "casas de aldea" (rural houses) with their original architecture lovingly restored for Rural Tourism. Casa Peña Careses is a fine example of this architecture. Here one can live in close contact with nature, Asturian customs, and rural way of live. Farming equipment and traditional elements of the working farm are displayed as a reminder of a bygone age.

Careses is situated in a wide valley at the base of “La Peña Careses”, (Mount Careses), where one can enjoy beautiful scenery and activities such as rambling and climbing.
