Glorious Kintyre
Great house in peaceful rural location with scenic panoramic west facing views from the house and garden of the islands and glorious sunset. Views too of sheep, cows and occasional deer and jumping fish in the pond. Generous decking with excellent outdoor seating, including loungers and barbeque. House very comfortable with everything we needed and more. Good appliances although a larger dishwasher would have been better. Easy trip to Gigha . Boathouse restaurant excellent but do book in advance. Lots of nearby beaches. Perfect place for a 3 generations early summer holiday!

Fantastic property, in a wonderful location.
Overall we had a wonderful holiday at this property. The house has plenty of space for 2 families and it was ideal having 2 living areas. The views from the outside decking are fantastic and we saw some beautiful sunsets. I do think the addition of an outdoor heater would make this space more usable in the cooler months. Overall I would recommend this property, the house itself has lots to offer and Kim the owner was very helpful.

Lovely quiet location to get away from it all
Nice property in a quiet but accessible location, fabulous garden for a dog. Communications with the owner were excellent, quick responses & very helpful. We did not have access to the Annex on our stay so can only comment on the main house. Well furnished, clean, comfortable. A couple of minor points that could have been better: 1 - The heated towel rail in the bathroom did not seem to be connected which meant towels were still damp the next day. 2- I was pleased to read in the details I was sent that items such as kitchen rolls etc were provided & we should replace if we use a lot or finish, which makes sense. However, on our arrival there were 2 sheets of kitchen roll left, no dishwasher tabs, no coffee pods. I had brought ground coffee with me but there wasn’t a cafetière. Meant I had to go to the shops immediately after a 5 hour drive. I did leave some coffee pods & kitchen roll for the next occupant! All in all it is a lovely house & the welcome pack was appreciated. Pity we had awful weather & didn’t get to appreciate the surroundings much, I’m sure the area is beautiful when it’s not torrential rain & a howling gale!

Fantastic holiday
Just returned from a 2 week stay at this superb property. The house is so well situated with stunning coastal and countryside views. The rooms are all tastefully decorated with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Our extremely anxious dog had a great time running around the enormous fully enclosed gardens and was able to relax in this tranquil environment. Any questions we had were promptly answered by Kim, the owner. She also provided a folder of very helpful information regarding the house and surrounding area. The welcome pack was also a nice touch and much appreciated We will definitely return and would highly recommend a stay.

A luxurious house in the most stunning setting
When we book a house for a holiday our minimum requirement is that it is at least as spacious, well furnished, clean and comfortable as our own home and Achnaha most definitely did not disappoint. In fact, with the large gardens, stunning views and proximity to the beautiful beaches, it is leagues ahead of our own home. Many houses we've rented over the years have at least one failing; whether it's room size, lack of utensils in the kitchen, too small a TV, lack of cushions/pillows (we can be quite picky so this list has been shortened). However, Achnaha was a home from home full of the comforts, amenities, utensils (we used both the cheese grater and the pizza slicer - often overlooked by other property owners) and luxury touches every holiday deserves. There was ample storage, the layout is perfect if you're sharing with friends or family as privacy can still be found when the house is full, the house was warm and spotless, the gardens (while large) were well maintained and great for the children to explore and the views are incredible. There's plenty to see and do in the surrounding area but, equally, it's a perfectly relaxing place to enjoy your holiday if you don't want to walk along the beach, go island hopping, take in a Whisky tour or shop in one of the local towns/villages. The more I reflect on it, the sooner we're likely to go back for another visit...

Perfect family get away, beautiful house/views
On arrival the house sits in a stunning location with views all around. It is beautifully decorated throughout in a modern and stylish way. Immaculately kept warm, cosy and welcoming. We were there with another family and the layout was perfect. All the children were able to share in a large bedroom featuring two singles and a set of bunk beds which they were delighted with. Our friends had the beautiful master bedroom and we were down stairs in what felt like our own private suite. Beautiful double bedroom, lounge area with French doors and views for miles and a family sized bathroom. There was also another large bedroom off the main lounge with en suite which we didn’t use. The house is spacious throughout and surrounded by lots of outside space to explore with the children. A short drive 10/15min and you are on the most beautiful beaches. We had such a fantastic stay with our friends and children and would definitely book again.

A WOW property in a breathtaking idyllic location!
This is the most peaceful location I’ve ever visited. The air is so clean, the sky is so clear...so many stars to gaze at and wish upon! I left feeling relaxed, invigorated and have fallen back in love with nature. The house is heavenly and immaculately furnished. A true luxury rental with such thoughtful touches. You can feel the love that has been poured in to it by the owners. The grounds are stunning with breathtaking views. We enjoyed so many adventures up through the woods into the fields, in and around the lake not to mention the idyllic beach with no-one else on it! Wow what a property and location! Highly recommended!!!

Holiday home with a wow factor!
Cannot recommend this home highly enough. A really welcoming home from home. Comfortable, cosy, spotless and ideally placed for exploring Argyll and the Kintyre peninsula. Ideal for a large family get together or two families holidaying together. Contemporary Scottish, tasteful interiors and great space for relaxing. Perfect luxury hideaway, yet close to the village and local beach. Just a short drive to Campbeltown. Photos only give a hint of the actual standard and situation of the house. Really breathtaking.

Great home
We had a nice holiday, the view is great, we enjoyed it every evening . We would recommend to detach the inactive weather station as it is in the middle of the view to the sea. Everything except the kitchen was very clean. We would recommend this home for holiday.

A stunning place to be!
The description of the house and the location is absolutely accurate. The view over the sea to the islands of Gigha and Islay are breathtaking. incredible sunsets await you in the evening. The house is modern and wonderfully furnished for families. There is plenty of room to retreat from time to time. Over 2 floors the house offers every comfort. I would especially like to mention the courteous communication with Kim. Always available and open to all questions. Many thanks for that.

The perfect vacation home!
My family and I absolutely loved staying at this beautiful property. We are a family of five and were traveling with grandparents--and we could not have asked for a better set-up for this. Additionally, the hosts have really gone the extra mile in providing high-quality furnishings, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and laundry, and some nice touches to reflect their great hospitality. The area where the house is located is just enough off the beaten path to offer some great peace and quiet, while still convenient enough to shops and restaurants (we especially loved the cafe that's co-located with a small shop in Glenbarr). As for things to do, our week ended up not being long enough to explore all the great things to see and do on nearby islands--which are easily accessed by ferries that are all a short drive away. Finally, I can't say enough about the kindness of our hosts and the work they obviously put in to making their home such a nice place to stay. We definitely hope vacation here again some day!
