This house is super comfortable, with all the amenities of home, and a beautiful ocean view. The coastal trail is just down the street, and the walks there are terrific. I highly recommend a stay at The Sea Ranch.
We love Sea Ranch and this is one of our favorite houses. Walking distance (just within range for 7 year olds) to Pebble Beach. Quiet. Amazing views. No games or toys so pack those if you want them. Everything else is spectacular.
One of my priorities for staying at Sea Ranch is to have an awesome ocean view from the main floor and dining room of the house. This house does not disappoint, and even has an ocean view from the kitchen window. Priceless! The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. The house is spacious. The decorations are ok, not overdone as in so many rental houses. The furniture is all decent, if a bit worn. The master king bed was comfortable, the downstairs queen bed is ready for replacement. Can't speak to the downstairs twin beds. Kurt was great to deal with when a couple of questions came up. The main floor has a secondary living space which is like a large studio apartment, with a futon bed which we didn't use. It's the only room with a TV, and we were never able to get the TV working since we only had a tablet, not a laptop. Luckily we could stream news and a show on the tablet. Would have liked a usable TV in the living room area. The construction next door was unobtrusive and didn't bother us at all. Would definitely stay here again!
This home is beautiful and is Sea Ranch through and through. The layout is lovely, it’s spacious and beautiful while having all the things you need. It holds a little older vibe but that is part of the uniqueness. It’s well located within sea ranch - close to the lodge, to the rec centers, and of course the coastal walk - seal reserve is very close by.The host was very communicative and helpful. We enjoyed it so much we plan to come back in the future.
The house was clean and has killer views of the ocean and beach. The host communicated well and clearly. We all really enjoyed our stay. Everything inside the home (furniture, sheets, blankets) is pretty old (early 90s?) but everything was clean, neat, and serviceable. The view out of the main living area is remarkable, you can see the picturesque meadow and crashing waves. There is construction happening right outside one side of the house so the view from the secondary living room/den is bad but we didn't need to use that space at all during our trip. Overall we were very happy with our rental.
This is our second New Year's holiday at this wonderful location. I have been staying at Sea Ranch (a wide variety of properties) since I was child (around 45 years or so) and this is one of the best houses we have ever rented. It is so well stocked, clean and comfortable. You can tell the owners take great pride in it and it has all of the creature comforts you could want. It is also very walkable to the bluff trail and no noise from Highway 1. We love it, and hope to return next year.
We stayed here during a stormy December week. The sun peeked out long enough for us to play some pickleball at Moonraker and hike along the bluff to the lodge. The location is super convenient with easy access to the trail and short drives to the recreation centers and the little town of Gualala, where we found the grocery store. The rest of the time we enjoyed the cozy home - doing puzzles, playing games, cooking and watching movies. The views from the home are amazing. We watched the storm create waves that looked like walls of water headed for the shore. Even our teens enjoyed the unplugged time - reconnecting with each other - and nature. The home is well maintained and super clean and invites a slower pace. There are a couple of outdoor spaces to enjoy in better weather too!
Beautiful views. Great location. Very clean (consider not using scented detergent on bedding as terrible for allergy suffers). Simple but perfectly suited our families needs. Thanks so much!
Absolutely lovely home! It’s very inviting and you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s house rather than an investment property like you sometimes get with vacation rentals. The ground floor was perfect for Mom who has difficulty walking, so definitely worked well with only a few stairs to navigate. The den is super comfortable and provides a good space to contain the louder activities.
My friends and I enjoyed our cozy weekend stay! The living room has a great dining table for our group meals and ample couch sitting to lounge around the fireplace. During the day, the views from the windows towards the coast are breathtaking. We used the comfy couches in the den, which also works as a 3rd bedroom with the futon in it. We loved having 3 official parking spots since we all had to drive up a different times. We used the fireplace for a night and found that it was a little smokey, but the owner was very responsive to the issue. I hope that gets fixed, because being around a fire inside the house is really nice! Make sure to bring all basic toiletries, as they are not provided in this property.
The location and views are stunning! House is very cool and architecturally original. Great amenities in the kitchen, new appliances, wonderful vibe. Kurt was very easy to reach and accommodating. We would love to stay again.
Very nice place, with great views and proximity to many nearest vacation attractions. Excellent support of the host throughout the entire stay. Thank you!
Wonderful days of sunshine and cool temperatures in midsummer with this amazing view of the Pacific. We enjoyed this property; clean, comfortable and ready for us. Thank you.
In five minutes you’re on the trail with incredible views. Add five minutes more & a couple of coves with the harbor seals. After a walk with incredible views, you can head back to a very comfortable home. I agree with the previous visitors who said the home is well stocked. I hope to return. Good memories!
The house is spacious and offers sweeping views of the ocean. We enjoyed hanging out in the living room as a family. There’s plenty of space for (6 of) us to find a corner to read or to play board games together. We marveled at the amazing sunsets and saw deer nearly every night.
We loved Kurt’s house - great views, cool fireplace, and the den was indeed private and served as a perfect 4th bedroom. House was exactly as described and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
We came to Kurt's home to celebrate our mother's life a year after she passed. She loved Sea Ranch, and she would have loved Kurt's home, with its large windows and beautiful views, and its easy access to trails and to ocean coves. Thank you, Sherrie and Mark
Overall wonderful experience. Kurt, the owner, is accessible and answered our questions prior to and during our stay. Make sure to close windows at night to avoid four-legged visitors such as raccoons.
Our family had a wonderful and relaxing stay. We hiked, saw lots of harbor seals, wild turkeys, deer, oyster catchers, cormorants and more. Would love to return.
