Little Holme is a fantastic place to stay - Su couldn't be more welcoming and helpful, and the house is immaculately clean with everything you could ask for.
Su and family were incredibly welcoming to our young family, having a travel cot and baby bath available saved us some bulky packing and the place was well set up for a young family. Delicious flapjacks on arrival, lots of local information available and a great base or exploring the local area.
My third time staying here. The host family are the nicest and most welcoming family, which makes sharing outdoor space easy. We rarely cross paths but I always welcome the walk-past greetings and lively chats when they have the time. The welcome gift of homemade buttery scrumptious flapjacks is so welcome when you’re away from home. My dogs always look for their son to play with, who seems to have energy to spare. Some easy large looping footpaths through the farm fields in the immediate vicinity and yet it’s perfectly situated near to towns like Hay and Ross -on-Wye and cities. Close to the Black Mountains for spectacular walks. I just love this area. Being right across from the pub, post office and restaurant, and around the corner from the most well stocked little store I’ve come across in a while, rounds out a perfect location. Thank you and we will see you again!
Me and my family really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and had modern appliances. All together it was a great house with a nice host that gives an explanation for the important things to know.
A lovely comfy, clean little cottage in a pretty village. Flapjacks and tea were a very warm welcome! We’d definitely recommend for families as there’s lots of great places to visit nearby.
A true home from home, everything you need is provided and the cottage is comfortable, and spotless. We had a perfect stay whilst visiting family in the area. Would definitely return.
My second stay and I’m so glad it was available. I love the trails and footpaths through the fields and around the village. The local pub is quintessential and the small grocer has lots to look over. Drive a short distance to Hay-on-Wye, Ross-on-Wye or Hereford. Close by is the beautiful Brobury House Garden and Cafe and delicious Monkland Cheese Dairy. The main street through this black and white village is a dream. I always pop in the church to see the Norman Baptismal Font on the way to the Church Green, for the dogs to have a quick run around. Little Holme is everything I need, clean, comfy and bright, and the shared backyard has turned out to be one of my favourite things: my dogs love the space and the host family. The large fridge and freezer has come in handy more often than not. Thank you for the mouth-watering treats and fruit from your trees! See you again!
Spotless, comfortable and well equipped. Great location
Great location for exploring a beautiful area. Little Holme comfortable and well equipped, hosts welcoming - wonderful flapjack- thank you. So much information and so many interesting places nearby.
This is a lovely property with everything you can possibly need. Situated in a beautiful black and white village and near to many lovely places to visit
We had a great time at Little Holme -- perfect for our family stay in the area, beautifully furnished in a gorgeous area, and with absolutely everything we needed for two young children from toys to baby bath to kitchen equipment. Would definitely recommend-- thanks, Su and
Richard!
Well equipped, comfortable and cosy cottage. Has everything you need for your stay. Good location to visit Hay on Wye. Friendly property owner, on hand if you need anything. We enjoyed a quiet and relaxing break.
We stayed for 3 nights at Little Holme. I wish it had been longer. A beautifully presented property, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lovely hosts too. Perfect!
The house was as advertised, the host helpful most enjoyable stay. One slight quibble the road to the side of the property is more a road than a lane.

Hi Mike and Chris, thanks for the note about the road - I have amended the listing to remove the word 'lane'. Almeley Road is generally a very quiet residential road leading to the countryside, though it can get a bit busier with farm vehicles around harvest time. Glad you had an enjoyable stay. All best, Su
