I only stopped for a night. As I was going from London to Skye's. Co-op right out front is definitely a plus. And no problem with communication with the owner.

Glad you enjoyed your overnight stay, enjoy the rest of your trip
We stayed at the cottage in Alston for one night in December, it was ideally located near all the village amenities including several pubs and a cafe that we visited for breakfast. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a good meal for the night and set the fire going for a cosy night in. The cottage was nice and peaceful with some lovely countryside around it for a walk around the village and the South Tyne river. Great communication from Colin and Sheila to let us know everything we need to ahead of our stay.
We really enjoyed staying at this property. It was clean, had fun decor, was comfortable and have everything we needed. We would love to come back someday.
We had a lovely time in this cottage. It is well equipped and comfortable, with everything we needed. The location was perfect, with some great walks, but also easy to drive to places of interest.
I'd recommend Sadler's bistro for cakes, and The Nook for breakfast - sadly several of the other places in Alston appear to have closed recently, but the quality of these means that we did not miss anything needed. Being behind the Co-op meant that even when we did run out of something it was really easy to get hold of it.
Our only problem was that the holiday wasn't long enough - we would have love to have stayed much longer! Thanks
Beautiful location & stunning accommodation. Everything you could wish for from a property, a true home from home. Would love to stay here again. Thank you both for such a wonderful stay.
Stokoe Cottage is a well appointed 'home from home' It is a really interesting
Cottage with quirky 'nooks and crannies' The host's communication was excellent prior to our visit.
There is a Coop around the corner and eateries to accommodate most tastes. There are a plethora of paths if you enjoy walking.
The Cottage is nice and roomy for a one bed and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. It is well located close to shops cafes takeaways and pubs with parking right outside the door. There are plenty of beautiful walks nearby. Alston is really is a hidden gem !
Excellent communication, perfect little cottage. Warm as toast with everything you need. Great fire. Lovely pubs and shops a stone's throw from the door, great walking and friendly local atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back!
Beautiful comfortable cottage. Very nice bed and warm lounge. Well fitted out kitchen. The only small thing would be to have a bigger saucepan for cooking meals
A little gem of a cottage in the heart of an old interesting and quiet town.town
Good. Don't like to criticise, but helpful maybe to say that the mattress is very "imprinted" on the window side, and also a teapot would be a fine addition.
