Perfect two week break

Hermes apartment in Amatu Villas is a lovely spot for a couple seeking peace and quiet in a stunning part of Crete. The apartment's patio has lovely views over Mazida Ammos beach and has several other local beaches within from between 15 to 50 minutes walk - all lovely. The local tavernas are about 15-20 minutes walk away along very quiet roads. Although close to a road Amatu Villa feels very secluded. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well furnished. The kitchenette was well equipped with a hob and oven suitable for producing simple meals for lunch or dinner. Clean linen was supplied regularly. The gardens are beautifully kept by Vivi and are a haven for bird life. We were also treated to home made cake! Xerocambus is small and quiet - a place for those looking to rest, swim, walk, read and generally relax not those seeking nightlife. It is approached down a twisting mountain road with superb views. There are four tavernas and two small mini markets with more facilities about 20 minutes drive away in Zakros. Although the apartment had a tv we didn't switch it on all fortnight!
