We loved the cabin and really enjoyed the river behind the cabin. The pictures online were a little confusing when we got there because we thought the river was right beside the cabin but once we figured out how to get to the river, we were relieved! We lived all the fresh flowers around the cabin and we were fascinated with the history of the cabin! We had a great time and I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone!

A lovely mountain getaway

We had 6 girls for a bachelorette trip stay here and it was awesome. We were a low key group, and this was absolutely perfect for going into town during the day on Saturday and staying in in the evenings. The river sounds were perfect and relaxing and the trail to get to the river is well kept. We would love to stay here again!

Fantastic house in a great location

The historic house was well appointed and very comfortable located on one of the prettiest stretches of river in North Georgia. Extremely quite..never saw a car pass by over the three days we were there over the fourth of July weekend. Deer are a plenty. Fishing was slow but still very enjoyable. We will be back :)

River bliss

Therapeutic sound from the river not only reaches you when you relax on the porch, but also to the upstairs bedroom. Fun property to walk/climb, great spacious cabin. Kitchen had all the supplies we needed. Hosts were great.

Exactly what was expected and needed!

We came with 2 teens who just graduated for a peaceful family getaway. The cabin was lovely with such character. The sounds of the river were instantly relaxing. We hiked to the river, went into town, read on the porch, played games together and grilled at night. We would love to stay again.

Adorable cabin on a property that forces you to relax!

There is nothing better than swinging on a porch listening to a river and that is exactly what you get with this property. The wood burning stove is perfection. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds very comfortable! The owners were responsive. We really enjoyed our stay for my dads’s 65th birthday weekend!

Tucked away gem!

We have stayed in a fair number of mountain cabins and this is one of our favorites to date. It has incredible amounts of charm and history. We enjoyed the location which is far enough to feel off the beaten path but a very short drive to a few of the vineyards and a 20 min drive to town. We also enjoyed “soundbathing” to the soothing rhythm of the chestatee river below us. If you want an authentic mountain cabin experience, this is the place for you. ( if you are interested in luxury linens, high end appliances, and other fancy things you may want to look elsewhere but you’d be missing out). This is also a great cabin for large families who aren’t used to tons of privacy as most of the sleeping quarters are in one large upstairs room.

Beautiful cabin with a neat history, tucked away in the hills

The cabin is beautiful and we enjoyed the quiet. But it rained everyday. We had hoped to enjoy the river, the wonderful porches, and surrounding area but with the rain...no. The kitchen had enough kitchenware/dinnerware for a large family to cook a banquet. Plenty of room for everyone. Hosts were helpful with the TV signal which was spotty with the rain. Plenty of games and books to read for all interests. We had a large van and the driveway is a bit tight, but we made it. The path to the river was overgrown with grass and muddy with the rain. Highlight was walking the mile+ loop in the rain. A lot of wildlife was enjoying the rain too.

Beautiful but Disappointing

This cabin and it's setting is so beautiful and such a great location for a simple, back to the basics getaway. But our excitement quickly turned to disgust and disappointment when we discovered how unclean parts of the cabin were. Within minutes of unloading food from our coolers to put in the fridge, I saw both people and pet hair all in the fridge and the drawers of the fridge. There were also leftover food smears in the fridge from whoever had been there before us. I wiped out the entire fridge before I put our food in it. As I was wiping up drops of water on the floor that had dripped out of our cooler, the paper towel I used was covered in grime and hair. It was very obvious that the floor had not been mopped in a long time. When we went to use some eating and cooking utensils out of the drawer, there were many that had food on them. Several cooking utensils looked like they had been used and not cleaned. One knife was covered in something chunky! A coffee cup had obviously been used and not even washed before being put up! The microwave had food splatters in it. The fan above the kitchen sink was covered in thick dust. The window beside the kitchen table was covered in some kind of splatters and drips (on the inside, not the outside). The oven had drips down it. We filled up the dishwasher with whatever dishes and utensils we thought we would use the next day and started it. There was no excuse for us to arrive to a filthy kitchen and have to start cleaning before we even used anything in it! Other things we were disappointed in: -Rusty can opener in kitchen -Sponge at sink was used and dirty -Trash cans were at the end of the driveway, not the house, when we arrived -Stairs were dusty and had lots of hair on them -Both windows in kitchen were unlocked -Window in downstairs bathroom was open and could not be closed all the way to lock it. My husband used books to block it from being opened from the outside. -Most of the towels were very thin, old and scratchy. When you dried off with them, other people's hair rubbed off on you. I washed several of them with detergent I brought to make sure they were clean. Overall, this is a beautiful place, but it is in need of a major deep cleaning. Some updated, nicer kitchen small appliances (the toaster burnt almost every piece of toast, unless I stood there and watched it) would be nice and better towels. As it is now, I would not recommend this cabin to friends.

This cabin was absolutely fantastic! The sounds of the river flowing from the back deck porch area were unmatched. We were able to relax on the back porch with my parents, husband, and baby girl as some rain came in the second afternoon there - and it was a special memory with it being so peaceful there. It was a perfect weekend getaway for our family while we attended a wedding in the Dahlonega area. The hosts were simply amazing too letting us check in a bit early so we could have time to get ready for the wedding - and were super quick to reply to all questions we had. Would definitely recommend this cabin if you're looking for a perfect north Georgia getaway with your family or small groups of friends!

Historical Stay

My family and I had a wonderful time in this historical log cabin! We chose it not only for the history but also its location to the water and it did not disappoint. The pictures are accurate and what you see is what you get. When I had questions I received quick replies. I give this place 10/10. We would recommend:)

Perfect Christmas stay!

We LOVED the cabin!!! The setting is beautiful and you’ll want to spend all day on the deck listening to the river below and watching birds. The cabin was gorgeous, rustic and very cozy. We were impressed with how well appointed it is and you’ll be able to easily cook a big meal there, if needed. We celebrated Christmas there and had a lovely meal, while never leaving the cabin that day. It’s also in the country, but not at all far from Dahlonega and Helen, and the restaurants and sites they offer. We will definitely return for future family gathering and highly recommend this place. The owners were great and communicated well with all of my questions and inquiries. Thank you!!

Beautiful historic cabin

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin. It’s stocked with everything needed for a few days. The porch view and sounds of the rushing waters are relaxing, didn’t get to enjoy the porch as much as we wanted because it was a little too cold while we were there. We found the king size bed to be uncomfortable, it could use a mattress topper, but since it was just two of us, we moved to another bed that was more comfortable. Everything else was perfect and we would definitely stay here again.
