Great place to stay

This is a very nice and well equipped property. Nice location even though it’s a bit of an uphill walk from the centre of Funchal. Gerardo is an exceptional host and was very helpful and accommodating.

Spotless apartment in well-located East Funchal. Ideal for walking down to the Zona Velhe and Old Town, whilst still quiet. Gerardo is the kindest and most considerate of hosts providing a wonderful welcome package of local cakes, fruit and breakfast things. The apartment is very comfortable with 2 nice balconies for breakfast, fully equipped kitchen/laundry and 2 good bathrooms. Superb A/C and comfortable beds, too. Highly recommended - 5 stars are not enough! Note that Madeira is quite hilly, but the apartment is right on several bus routes and the taxis are cheap to get back up that slope.

Great apartment close to the old Funchal

The apartment was very nice and clean, and at a walking distance from the old city of Funchal (for those who are not afraid of a little slope). Gerardo is a great host, always willing to help, and so welcoming!

very well supported, fully equipped twobedroom

Great view of busy harbor, but ìf bringing in a rental auto, beware of narrowly defined parking garage. This is accessed by a narrow, and very steep one way street.

Dear Ole, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate all input as it helps us continuously improve our services. We understand your concerns, and we’d like to clarify that Madeira Island is a tiny island consequently space is a rare good in Madeira. In addition to this Palheiro Residence is located at the Old Town consequently narrow streets is a common issue in Funchal. Our goal is always to provide the best possible experience so we gave you all the conditions to easily maneuver the car in our garage.

Excellent flat in a location not too far from the city centre. A very attentive landlord who is easily contacted if you need anything. Nothing is too much trouble. Bedding and towels frequently changed and the flat cleaned. We have enjoyed our stay immensely many thanks to Gerardo.

Fabulous apartment in Funchal

This apartment has it all: spacious, clean, comfortable furniture, well appointed complete kitchen with washer, two balconies, convenient parking space. It is a steep hike up to the apartment from the town, but it's possible to walk down and take Bolt back up.It's worth it for the terrific view of the harbor from the front balcony. Gerardo was an amazing host. He graciously met us on arrival (even though our plane was late) and explained everything. He even left us a beautiful selection of local fruit and pastries. We would definitely stay here again!

Gerardo was an amazing host. He responded quickly to any questions. The apartment was comfortable, very clean, well equipped and well maintained. A 5 minute walk to a bus stop where you could take a number of buses that would take you downtown. Or if you chose to walk a 20 minute walk to the Farmers Market. From the living room or front bedroom there was a beautiful view of the harbour and comings and goings of the cruise ships.

Amazing

Me and my family were at Palheiro Residence during Christmas holidays. Gerardo, the owner of our location, was very welcoming with us; even if our flight was in delay (we arrived at residence at 1 a.m.), he welcomed us to show the apartment. Gerardo was always available and very fast to reply to every our request. The apartment was very clean, functional and spacious according to the description. The position was very strategic, not so far to the centre of Funchal (10 minutes downhill by foot and 15 minutes uphill by foot) and not so close and low to prevent an amazing sight on the Atlantic Ocean and on the harbour of Funchal. We can give a very positive and we can advice Palheiro Residence.
