Where do we begin? The pictures only tell part of the story! Katerina’s Penthouse has a view and setting that is breathtaking. But what sets this vacation location apart is the authentic Greek experience of homemade meals, sweets, and fresh off-the-vine foods. Anna takes care of your palate while the Mediterranean takes care of the rest. This was a DREAM vacation spot! And our hosts were nothing short of helpful! Paradise Found

This was our first trip to Crete and we were so lucky to stay in this beautiful place! To have coffee every morning pin the terrace overlooking to blue sea was perfect! We could walk down the path under the grape arbor to a quiet, perfect beach for a swim. Our hosts were very friendly and Anna’s gifts of delicious Cretan food from her kitchen and her garden were an expected delight!!! We will definitely return when we can.!!!

Best Place Ever!

If this property is available and you want an authentic experience that feels like a home away from home then stay here. The family is amazing and even cooked us some traditional Greek food and had some treats and a bottle of wine for us on arrival. There is also a beach right on your doorstep that all the locals go to. I can’t fault this place and we were surprised it was available to book a month out. We looked at a lot of different places before booking this and wanted to stay somewhere without the crowds of tourists. Book this place, it is worth every penny. You won’t regret it! Thanks again to the hosts. I’ll recommend this place to everyone coming to Crete.

Peaceful Retreat

Katerina's Penthouse is a delightful place to slow down and enjoy nature. The terrace is perfect for having tea while listening to the gentle surf on the beach below, boat spotting, and losing track of time. Although the penthouse is located within minutes of a major highway and a busy port, the property itself is sheltered and very quiet. The beach is a short and easy 5-minute walk from the garden. We visited in mid April and found the water plenty warm for swimming. Inside the penthouse the rooms are spacious and well-lit, clean and tidy, yet cozy feeling with the rich wood and stone textures, traditional furniture and many soft places to land for reading a book. The garden is masterfully planted with kitchen herbs, well-tended old wisteria vines, roses, annuals, and olive and fruit trees in the groves beyond the garden. Inside and out it is obvious that Anna and Costas, the owners, have cared for the house and property with passion.Anna greeted us on our first morning with a breakfast tray including fresh eggs from her chickens and olive oil and candied grapefruit from the garden, then a basket of fresh lemons, oranges and pink grapefruit from the garden grove - juicy perfection! Over the course of our stay she and two granddaughters appeared each day to deliver homemade delicious dishes. We have never before been treated with such generous hospitality and are very grateful to Anna and her family for making us feel very much at home. Thank you!

Nous recommandons vivement ce lieu de séjour en Crète, la maison est confortable, la petite plage de Skala avec son eau cristalline est accessible à pied, la situation permet de cette partie de la Crète et l'accueil d'Anna est généreuse et chaleureuse tout en restant très discrète. Nous avons passé un séjour de 3 semaines unique et formidable.

Picture perfect view!

I picked this place for the view and it did not disappoint. It was very convenient to the national highway and small towns. Loved the owners! They were very welcoming and brought goodies to us several times. Lots of space and very beautiful private beach nearby. Would recommend.

Endroit magnifique pour se détendre!

Anna et Costa, les propriétaires qui habitent au rez-de chaussée de la maison, sont des personnes très sympathiques et aimables. L'appartement est spacieux et très agréable à vivre dans le style typiquement grec! La plage est à trois minutes à pied, Kalyves, où il y a les restaurants et les magasins pour le shopping est, à 10 minutes en voiture. Dans les environs il y a aussi beaucoup de lieux magnifiques à visiter. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir!
