Lovely, relaxing, cozy cottage
We really enjoyed our time here. The cottage is beautiful & immaculately kept. The little touches like flowers and the fresh bread were lovely & really appreciated. Thank you. We will certainly recommend this property.

Awesome little holiday in Madeira's Mountains
My partner and me (28, 25) went to Madeira in March for the first time. Our priority was to be far away from tourism and hotels but as close as possible to nature and the real Madeiran culture and people. We booked one place near the beach for 5 days and the three last days of our holiday we decided to stay in Camacha...I'm so happy we did! Filomena, her husband Pedro and her lovely daughter are amazing hosts, speak amazingly well English and are always happy to help (Pedro took us to the airport as we both didn't have a car). The cottage is bigger than it looks on the pictures, it's actually a small house to yourself. The garden surrounding the cottage looks like paradise and the Levada walks are indeed just around the corner. A bus to Funchal comes quite regularly and the bus stop is just down the road. The day we arrived Filomena and her partner welcomed us with a bottle of Madeira wine and all sorts of little nibblings (cookies, crackers etc). There was also freshly made bread every morning for breakfast. Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad (hailstones and rain) when we arrived, so we were lucky to spend our time in front of the lovely oven with hot chocolate and cookies. If you are looking for a bautiful and authentic place within the nature and if you're happy to spend your holiday with calm, the sound of the birds and loads of hiking, I recommend you to book a few days in Camacha. My partner and me are definitely going back in September and we can't wait :)

Cosy and comfortable house in nice surroundings
We staied 4 weeks in this very nicely renovated and fully equipped house and can really recommend it - both if your looking for a comfortable place where to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and also if you want a convinient base for exploring Maderia. The kitchen has everything for storing, cooking and eating your own food. There's also a very good supermarket just 5 minutes away by car in Camatcho. This made staying home for dinner an attractive alternative and we did it many times! The breakfast was included and we got bread from a local bakery, jucie, egg, ham and chees, coffe/te etc - "everything" we wanted in other words. We had breakfast outside in the sun. There is a work space on the upper floor and we brought the computer with us and could work, listen to our own music etc thanks to the internet access. The fire place contibuted to the cosyness but was also pratical to heat up the house when the evenings were chilly and humid. The wood was refilled every day. The service was excelent and actually more than we had expected; the hous was cleaned and the beds were made every day and we got new towels and sheets a cople of times per week. The beds were excelent. We went for a couple of shorter and longer walks starting directly from the house, on the nearby levada. I also went jogging in the evenings on the same levada. The location is half way up to the mountains, and at the same time close to Funchal (15 min by car) - perfect if you have a car and want to explore the island. To summaries we thought the house was much nicer than what the pictures show (even if they are nice too!) and that we were lucky to find it. Great value for money considering the comfort and high standard on everything, the service, the generous breakfast and the beatiful place.

A perfect week
The stone house is a perfect base from which to enjoy and explore Madeira. It is set in beautiful gardens and is lovingly maintained by the family. The cottage has everything that a couple could need for a self catering holiday and the kindness and hospitality offered to guests is second to none. The description and pictures on the website give a flavour of the property but cannot do it full justice. If you enjoy quality and want a holiday that offers something a bit special then this is the property for you, We shall certainly be returning in the near future as we would love to see Madeira again.
