Great and relaxing family vacation spot.

Accommodations were wonderful. The view was breathtaking at any hour. This condo was really geared for a full live in experience to do lots and lots of cooking. We as a group didn't want to cook and ate most of the time. Duke's was nice.

Beautiful

As soon as we walked in, we were blown away by the views, but it didn't stop there. Beautiful kitchen, spacious bathrooms and large balconies equipped with plenty of seating. Having the barbq was great for dinners on the balcony. It was great to have views of one of the pools as well as the ocean with beautiful sunsets. We enjoyed being able to hear the music from Dukes ~ it's not loud but we could hear it. The only thing I might mention is that this is quite a walk from the elevators, so if you have somebody that struggles to get around keep that in mind. We loved everything about it and will rent it again! Make reservations ahead of time for Dukes ~ it's tough to get in.

The location was amazing!!! Such an incredible view too! We only had a couple of minor issues that a simple call to the customer service number & it was fixed immediately. We stopped at Costco & Safeway on our way to the property and we stocked up. We BBQ'd many meals on the deck with the built-in BBQ. The unit was very clean & one of the bedrooms that was meant for our adult sons, actually had split the beds into 2 instead of a king-size. That worked our perfectly! The only issue we had wasn't about the unit or property itself but the fact that there were so many families with young kids and while we usually ended up sitting in provided beach chairs on the beach, we really couldn't use the pool much because people would stake out the pool lounge chairs with towels first thing in the morning even though they were never to be seen. That was just rude behavior even though that was against "the rules". Having drinks poolside required you to order from Duke's, the on premises bar and restaurant, the average drink was 18! When you're paying for 6 adults, that becomes ridiculous. So we made our own drinks & had them on the beach - you're not allowed to bring them anywhere near the pool area. Check-in & check-out was easy No keys needed - everything was done by one code, which made it convenient. KBM was always checking in on us via email to make sure we were all good. Plenty of glassware, plates & utensils. Built-in microwave had a mind of its own. There's a back-up though!

The property is in a fantastic location. The view is spectacular! We really enjoyed all the amenities. The pools were so fun and despite the size of the complex, the pools never felt crowded. We ate at Dukes ( the on-site restaurant ) several times. It’s pricy but good. The staff we encounter was always very friendly and helpful. There were a few issues with the unit: The toilet roll paper holder in the hall bathroom is broken. The makeup light in the master bath did it work. I had to use my own mirror at sit in the bed to see. The gas grill is broken. Auto igniter doesn’t work. We had a service person help us light it with a match. As a result we didn’t bbq more than once. The master bath wouldn’t flush, we had to use a plunger. It worked well after that. The checkin process was not ideal. The code on the door didn’t work. We had call KMB management.

Communication was excellent!

It was so easy to work with the customer service reps. It was great that when I called, a person actually answered the phone. I did experience some anxiety over having my check get from the east coast to Hawaii in 10 days considering the US Mail, but I called each time and the employees were very kind and assured me things will be fine. Communication was excellent from beginning the booking process to check out. I will use this company again and will definitely recommend them to friends.

Fantastic location

We loved our stay here. The view is just incredible. The home is lovely and the decor tasteful. The location is fabulous because you can walk to two terrific beaches within 3-7 minutes. To the left you can snorkel at an incredible bay, and to the right you can swim and boogie board. Our teenagers loved it. The directions to find the home were a little difficult, but I called the management company and they answered and helped us. Even though you are staying at Kapalua Bay Villas, be sure to put simply Bay Drive in your GPS because Bay Villa Drive is down the street, and that's not you! That's Coconut Grove condos, which is not you! Drive past Merrimans and Coconut Grove, and the Montage Staff back driveway, and then turn left into Montage and Spa Montage. Immediately turn right, then first left, then go down a little to the security gate on the right. Go through and then take your second right, go all the way to the front and park straight ahead. The condo is *downstairs*. It is unit 2. Facing the water. In building G34. It has a little green, grassy area to the left of the recessed front door. Cheng was wonderfully helpful each time we had a question. We loved eating at Sansei and Merrimans and Joey's. The grocery store was nearby, as was a place to rent boogie boards. It would have been nice to have boogie boards already at the condo, as many rentals do. Just saves the step of going to the shop twice. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked bfast. We made dinner reservations months in advance, thankfully. The AC and Wi-Fi worked great, and the laundry room was very helpful. The one draw back to this home is the doors. They are not in the least soundproof, so no could sleep as soon as one person got up. Every single noise carries into both bedrooms, as I imagine does every noise bedroom to bedroom. Just two new bedroom doors would go a long way toward adding comfort and rest to this lovely home. We did struggle a bit to get enough sleep and had to confine early risers to bed in order to do so. Literally they could not go into the kitchen to get a glass of water because everyone heard every sound. We survived, of course, but it is worth noting. We also drove several times to the Ritz beach and Burger Shack, where we thought swimming was the best and the food with a view was just great. We were thrilled with our stay and loved exploring Maui from this excellent home base with an unparalleled 180 degree stunning view.

Excellent family vacation.

We traveled with our three adult and one teenage children . This location was perfect for everyone. Access to the beach couldn’t have been better (steps to the sand). This particular condo had a wonderful large balcony with great views of the ocean. Views from the bedrooms were mainly of the pool area but that didn’t bother us. The condo was well appointed and even had beach chairs and boogie boards (as well as sand toys and a pack and play) for our use. The beds were comfortable and clean. The condo was spacious. Check in was quick and easy. Parking for our rental was super easy (underground garage). Food market (“Times” local food market, was 0.3 miles away). Definitely a great place to stay.

Beautiful!

Large condo with all the amenities. Beautiful view off the large wrap around veranda with doors that fold away and the sunsets are breathtaking. It’s very convenient to have Duke’s so close for a meal or just a drink. The two little convenience store were great, too. One is the typical type with junk food, drinks, coffee bar and souvenirs. The other one that’s the closest is an organic delight. We also loved having wristbands instead of key cards and unlimited beach towels! The free car was only compact so we had to get an additional car since there was 9 of us. The floor of the veranda was so dirty our feet were black and unfortunately we carried that indoors before we realized. The outdoor table and kitchen area were filthy too but easy enough to clean. We loved this condo and would go back in the future.

Honua Kai is a beautiful property and well cared for. Convenient to beach and Dukes; the best views from the unit! However, I feel that the unit needed maintainance; 2 of the doors did not work properly, dirty outdoor cushions, rust on w/d. Bar stools had some holes in the wicker.
