Welcome to La Posada Del Sueco — a one-of-a-kind tropical oasis hand-built with love by a Swedish expat on the stunning Pacific coast of Ecuador.

Nestled in the charming beach town of General Villamil Playas, just 90 minutes from Guayaquil, this is not your average guest house. Every corner, every waterfall, every palm tree was carefully placed by our own hands to create something truly magical.

The space

4 unique social areas with ambient music throughout the property. Gather around the open fire at night. Grill your catch of the day at our BBQ area. Sun yourself on our terrace. It never gets old.

Full guest kitchen with large fridge — cook like a local. Strong Wi-Fi throughout the entire property. Free parking for up to 6 cars. Pool shower and outdoor toilet. Everything you need, nothing you don't.

I'm a Swede who fell in love with Ecuador and never left. I speak Spanish, English, and Swedish — so wherever you're from, we'll make you feel at home. I built most of this property with my own hands and I pour my heart into every guest's experience.

Playas is one of Ecuador's most beautiful and authentic beach destinations. Famous for its Pacific sunsets, surfing, whale watching (June–September), and fresh seafood. Far enough from the crowds, close enough to everything.

This is more than a place to sleep. This is an experience.

All property except the main house!

Gate opens 07.00 a.m and closes 23.00 p.m and 24.00 a.m on weekends.

If you like to return later then 24.00 Am, you just tell us and we fix it.

Other things to note
Guest who like to reserve need first to send a message and confirm with the host if we are available or not before the booking is done.
We do have other booking sites.

We are sorry to inform you!
If you want to book only for 2 people you need at least 3 nights and above to book with us.

We use strong floor fans to refresh the air in your rooms.
One room also have a roof fan.

We change your towels and sheets and cleans every 2 nights, of course you will have changes of soap/shampoo and toilet paper if you need it.

The guests Have a big Guest kitchen/BBQ fully equipped with a Big fridge except no oven.

We have an area with an fire pit were you can enjoy barbecuing some hotdogs and more with your family.

We have a washing machine if you would like to wash your closes for a cost of 4 dollar for a full machine.

We are working with a small cabana/food place on the beach which are doing local seafood and breakfast, you order from here and they will bring your food to you.

Couple of hundred meters from the Guest House on the main road you have an Uruguay steak house which have good food and drinks.

Outside the guest house and in the city center 2 km from us you have quit many different food cores and restaurants serving Ecuadorian local sea food and chines and more.
There are also a shopping mall only 1.5 km from us were you can buy foods and clothes and many other things.

Whale watching season are July to October and is in the town of Salinas more north from here.
Dolphin/Bird watching all year around passing with boat tours on the mangrove rivers only 12 km from our Guest House.
We call a Taxi and the price is around $5 to 7 one way.
The boat trip for dolphins are around $10 and for further away with guide to the bird Island its around $20 half day.

We have taxi service to the Center of Playas.
If you like the bus then its leaving every 10 minutes only around the corner, 25 cents to the Center.
