Quiet and peaceful

We came up to this property partly to visit our new Grandson and partly to get away from the hustle and bustle, this place fit the bill even though it rained, we got to see 6 deer one morning while having coffee on the big deck, the gas fire pit did work wonders for our wine and beer sips on the evening deck, well worth the money and will probably book again.

This was an incredibly nice house to stay on the river. The inside of the home was spacious, comfy and very clean upon arrival. It's a very well-kept home. The hot tub was a fantastic addition since we booked the place back in January, and it was a great amenity to wind up having. We used it each night! The house is easy to get to and is in a convenient location to town. The steps, as described are indeed steep and numerous, so this wouldn't be the best option for anyone with mobility issues, but otherwise, it's a truly great home. The enclosed/gated deck was wonderful for the dogs to spend some time outside. We would definitely stay there again.

Place was great! It was not right on the river as advertised. You had to walk down a steep flight of step, cross a gravel road and then another long flight of stairs to access to river and chairs by river. You are definitely out of breath on the way up to the cabin! Also the hot tub looked alittle dirt the first night- the second that was confirmed bc the pool man stopped by and drained and cleaned it while us guys were on the river and the ladies were at the cabin. He said he forgot to do it the day before we arrived. Needless to say it was too cold to use the rest of our stay which was unfortunate bc that was definitely a feature we looked for when renting this cabin. Great place- not so great communication & service. Also they want a cash tip to haul off any garbage- which I think is getting a bit ridiculous.

Perfect get away!

We enjoyed our stay at New River Haven so much! The house was exactly as described and such a wonderful place to relax and unwind. We took lots of walks and enjoyed the river views from the porch. West Jefferson is one of our favorite places to visit. Can’t wait to plan our next visit!

Cute and Convenient

Nice little house with expected amenities that was convenient to many outdoor activities and town. Exactly what we wanted so we could enjoy the outdoors all day and relax over a good homemade meal or takeout in the evening.

We had a nice time staying at this property. We stayed for a week with 2 teens and a small dog. The place was well taken care of and very clean. It was well equipped and offered a lot to keep the teens entertained on a rain day. The ping pong table was our favorite!

Great location!

Had a wonderful trip even though it rained most of the time. Management responded promptly when needed. We loved the view of the river from the deck and our lab loved playing in the water. Access to the river was easy. It is a quiet area where you can relax and enjoy nature. We will be renting here again.

A Nice Get Away!

This was a nice trip for my family. We enjoyed being on the river, although it was a lot of steps. We were prepared since we had seen the pics! The house was nice and clean and had all the amenities of home. The porch was my favorite spot to sit and soak in the mountain air! We even had deer in the yard beside us! We would definitely stay again!

Definitely got our 'steps' in!

The house is nice and clean. Very quiet neighborhood. The location of the house adds lots of privacy, but makes the walk to the river further. This would be a challenging property to stay at for anyone with foot, knee, or hip issues. There are LOTS of steps, you cannot access the house or river without climbing steps.

Mountain Getaway

We adored this property...the layout, deck, firepit. Your up in the trees but then great river access. Cute little quiet neighborhood. Super convenient to West Jeff. Comfy bed, good shower, little grill was great and we had so much fun with the ping pong. Hope to return! My only warning to other folks would be the road down to cabin. Probably want 4 wheel or all wheel to be on safe side. Thanks so much for everything!

Yellow Jackets! Otherwise perfect

Our stay was almost perfect, but there is a major yellow jacket issue. We were stung on three different days for a total of 6 incidents: myself, my husband, and our 5-year-old. There is a large nest in the bottom set of stairs on the way to the river. I highly suggest y'all try to do something about it. We won't stay here next time, but we will stay in the area and are interested in other 4 seasons properties.

Great Getaway

The wooded area and river access offered a great retreat. We had a couple nights of noisy neighbors, but seems like it is likely quiet most of the time. Great deck and playroom with ping pong table and inner tubes downstairs was a nice bonus. Living area is a little tight, but sufficient for what we needed. No dishwasher and things like salt and cooking oil would have been nice. A little odd you have to take trash with you or tip extra money to housekeeping (after paying fees). A ton of information provided on local sights and things to do though some info. generic and impersonal since it is run by a property management company with multiple locations. Overall, really enjoyed the cabin feel, the river, and the location.

Great place to get away!

We had a wonderful long weekend here. The cabin is clean, nicely decorated, and has everything you need to get started. Unfortunately, it rained the entire weekend we were there, so we didn't get to enjoy the beautiful seating area down by the water. I will say, the stairs to get down to it looked a little steep, but definitely manageable. Lucky for us, a good portion of the deck is covered, so we were able to sit out and look at the gorgeous scenery and listen to the rain. The dogs loved playing on the deck. Inside is cozy and the beds and couches are comfortable. We had no cell service once we got within about 5 minutes or so to the cabin, so make sure you have all of your directions printed or downloaded. The cabin is on a gravel road a little off the beaten path, but we had no trouble finding it. The driveway is a but steep, but not bad. The TVs and wifi worked great. The kitchen is very nice. There are pots, pans, and cooking utensils as well as a nice grill on the deck, so no need to worry with going out if you don't want to. There is a washer and a dryer. We didnt use them, but they looked well kept. Both bathrooms are really nice, and the shower in the full bath is spacious. There is a basement area you can acess from the carport that has a few intertubes and a ping pong table. West Jefferson is just a 10 to 15 minute drive if you need to grab any groceries or want to go out to eat. All in all, this cabin was perfect for us, and we are hoping to stay again soon.
