My husband and I have stayed here several times, we love the location and the cottages are perfect. The owner is quick to respond and easy to work with.
We loved our stay at The cottages at canyon peaks! The location is top notch and easily accessible to all the fun things to do in the hill country. We had a small issue when we got to the cabin at first, but Shelly was quick to answer and find a solution. We will definitely be back.

Thanks for the review and thank you for leaving the place spotless! Come back soon!
What a perfect place! All the decor was beautiful! The personal touches were so sweet. Pancake mix and syrup for my daughter, fresh eggs from the coop, wine and cheese for me....we had a much needed time away. Great location to many places. But so nice to retreat to this Peaceful cottage in the evening and watch the deer. Even took a little walk. We look forward to visiting again.

We’re so happy you enjoyed your stay! Hope to see you again soon. Sherry & Gary
The property location was excellent, the property itself was beautiful and well taken care of. The cottage was like you would find in magazines. All around an excellent stay. The details put into this place far exceeded what you would find at some of the nicest of hotels. So many personal touches and thought went into these cottages. You could tell the host really appreciates their guest and want the best possible experience for them. I would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a beautiful stay in hill country. An excellent place to just get away and have a peaceful weekend but still be close enough to surrounding activities.

Jeremy, thank you for such a thoughtful review! We hope to see you when you're back this way. Sherry & Gary
With so many windows, we felt like we were outside but living in the comfort of shabby chic! Loved the window above the bed:). We had the feeling of trees in our room! Loved it!
Amazing property and cottage! Perfect setting to explore nature, nice and quite but extremely close to Canyon Lake. Every detail was thought of in the cottage, down to the cheese and crackers and wine. Loved it!!
We loved this cabin so much. The location is quiet and peaceful, yes perfectly located to get to so many neighboring areas and activities. The accommodations are so comfortable and clean, and perfectly decorated. The detail is in the small touches like wine and cheese upon arrival, extremely comfortable bedding, and even small touches like extra plugins- extensions for phone charging, etc. And did I mention there is a chicken coop with fresh eggs available?! It was so memorable and really made a perfect romantic getaway spot.
This was such a great experience. We were looking to get away for the weekend and enjoy the nearby Canyon Lake. This cottage was in the perfect location, close to a few towns that we wanted to explore. We would come back in the evening and relax on the front porch enjoying the beautiful Hill Country scenery. The hosts had everything perfect and checking in and out was a breeeze. We will definitely be back.
Cozy cottage, convenient locations, and beautiful views
My family and I stayed at the Canyon Peaks for 4th of July weekend, and it was such a great experience! Very cozy, beautiful scenery, the cottage was clean, beautifully decorated, & had everything we needed. Sherry was very nice, professional, and responsive. The location is very convenient to all major destinations, including the local store Brookshire Brothers and not far from Comal Park/Canyon Lake. We will definitely be back in the future!
Sherry and Gary are incredible! My wife and I got married across the street at Rancho Mirando. My family and two of our friends occupied all 4 cottages with Sherry and Gary. The cottages are simply fantastic. So neat, clean, and well decorated. The location was perfect to come and go, back and forth between them and the ranch. I am already looking to plan a friends trip back up to stay at the cottages. The scenery is gorgeous and we thank you for your hospitality! See you soon!
Staying in these beautifully decorated cottages is a must! Very peaceful but yet convenient to Antique shopping, restaurants and Canyon Lake. The owners are super helpful and make your stay extra special with their hospitality. I highly recommend booking your stay now! We will definitely be going back.
My husband and I stayed here the night of our wedding and the following night. We loved the quiet stillness of the entire place. The front porch is the cutest morning coffee and evening wine spot. The interior of this place is to die for! Such a neat place with so many little personal touches! This place was also extremely clean with an amazing bath tub! The hosts were easy to communicate with! We were very pleased and will be back! :)

Madison, we are so happy you chose cottages at Canyon Peaks for your special stay, and welcome you back for your next visit!
Everything was as advertised & exactly like the pictures!! We were pleasantly surprised with how clean the cottage was. The property is beautiful, the location was private and communication with Sherry & Gary. We enjoyed our walks, the wine & cheese, pancakes & eggs!! Thanks so much!
We had a great stay, quiet and the view was great. Sat on the porch and watched the deer. Wine and cheese was a great way to start our visit. Will definitely stay here again.
This cottage was everything you could ask for and more in a getaway!!! Tiny but packed with everything that you need. The cheese, wine and crackers were a fantastic touch. It was clean, comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the front porch in the evenings. Fresh eggs for breakfast was fantastic. We were already discussing our next stay and which cabin we wanted to try next! Sherry was on top of communicating with us and was quick to let us know that a lightning strike knocked out the wifi and Roku. Thank you for a great weekend!
I wish our trip would have allowed more time to stay in our cute cottage, but we loved the time we did spend there. It was so perfect I just wanted to pick it up and take it home with me. Thank you for such care and detail you provide for your guests!
Gary and Sherry spend most of their time at Canyon Peaks Ranch, where they manage the land, wildlife, and 4 guest cottages. Gary is a retired Navy Commander who chose a second career at Brinks Home Security before finally "retiring" once and for all to the Texas Hill Country. Sherry founded The Newsletter Company in Dallas in 1981 and is easing her way into retirement.
Why We Chose This Property: Growing up in Houston, Sherry vacationed in the Hill Country, enjoying the cool springs in summer and festivals like Wurstfest in the fall. During four years at UT, she explored the Hill Country towns from Wimberley to Luckenbach and all points in between. One of the most scenic views in all of the Hill Country is a stretch of FM 32 nicknamed "The Devil's Backbone" because of its winding curves and spectacular views. Gary & Sherry were frequent visitors to the area, and always dreamed of retiring in the Hill Country. When a ranch came up for sale in this choice spot, we bought the property and began building!
What makes our cottages different? The cottages are architecturally unique, a mixture of old and new with a focus on beautiful architectural pieces from the past. Sherry's passion is restoring historic structures, including a 100-year-old office building in Downtown Dallas and a home in the State-Thomas Historic district that dated back to the 1880s. You'll pass by an old blue Victorian house at the entrance on FM 32, which we moved from Austin in 2016 and have leased for to a couple who sells antiques. If you know of anyone who wants to launch a restaurant, send them our way!
Why they chose this property
Growing up in Houston, we vacationed in the Hill Country, enjoying the cool springs in summer and festivals like Wurstfest in the fall. During my four years at UT, we'd explore the Hill Country towns from Wimberley to Luckenbach and all points in between. One of the most scenic views in all of the Hill Country is a stretch of FM 32 nicknamed "The Devil's Backbone" because of it's winding curves and spectacular views. We were frequent visitors to the area, and always dreamed of retiring in the Hill Country. We looked for 5 years before finding the perfect property. We wanted a ranch with views, and we also wanted a property with easy highway access to give us the ability to add future retail and restaurants along FM 32. When a portion of Holm’s ranch came up for sale in this choice spot, we bought the property and began building!
What makes this property unique
We live on a ranch, and grant guests access to miles of hiking trails, some with view of Canyon Lake. We also provide farm fresh eggs from the coop.
