The Retreat is a semi-detached, Grade II listed, stunning five bedroom country house nestled at the heart of the pretty Dorset Village of Burton Bradstock. Set just ½ mile from Hive Beach, on the world heritage Jurassic Coast, it’s perfectly located between Weymouth and Lyme Regis. The house itself is perfect for large family groups with stylish and flexible accommodation over three floors. The social hub is a large kitchen/dining room and is perfect to relax, cook and enjoy each other’s company. The stylishly furnished living room is the perfect space in which to relax after a busy day exploring.

The village of Burton Bradstock is a beautiful place to explore, with village inns, a restaurant and a superb café directly on Hive Beach. A little further afield is the harbour settlement of West Bay which is a spectacular place to while away a few hours. The pretty harbour has a back drop of stunning sandstone cliffs and beautiful beaches.

The Market towns of Dorchester and Bridport are a short drive away and offer a wide variety of independent shops and eateries. This luxury holiday home will have you enchanted from the moment you step inside, and will have you longing to return.

We enjoyed a break over the New Year with family.

We enjoyed a break over the New Year with family. From the moment we arrived, it felt comfortable and homely. Given the time of year, a lovely touch from the landlord was the fully dressed Christmas tree. We cannot recommend this house enough for a relaxing enjoyable break in Dorset and hope to book it again ourselves in the future.

Great property. Well-equipped, beautifully appointed, clean and exactly what we required for a multi-generational holiday by the seaside. We particularly liked the garden area - excellent for morning coffee and late afternoon drinks. Good communication with the owner too.

Brilliant time.

Stayed for three days…..beautiful house with loads of character….the children loved exploring… Great days out in the winter sun, then back to a roaring log fire…..fantastic. Great sized rooms, lounge and kitchen both managed all nine of us. Beds were all super comfy with quality duvets and bed linen. En suites everywhere!! We had dinner at the local pub, The Three Horseshoes, and the staff there were excellent, and the food was great. Highly recommend. The owners were very helpful, with a welcome pack on arrival, and were very accommodating when we were struggling to get things, children, and babies together prior to leaving……we will definitely look to book again in the summer…...Many Thanks

Lovely, spacious house: immaculate, comfortable, spotless, warm and well-equipped. Four bathrooms for five bedrooms which is unheard of in a holiday let. Garden looks lovely but wrong time of year to enjoy it! Burton Bradstock is a great location for all of the Jurassic Coast. There are so many great places to eat and walk, and they are all within easy reach. The sea is a 15 minute stroll away through the beautiful village. This 5 bed cottage is 5 star. Taken aback by the huge bedrooms. Fantastic lounge and the most comfortable beds. All bathroom fittings are top quality. The large kitchen diner is excellent for evening meals although the pub next door is also excellent. Plenty of parking space but make sure you are facing the gate after parking as reversing onto the road is tricky. Large garden with ample seating under the apple trees.
