About this property

Cosy Countryside Cottage

Self contained one bedroom cottage in quiet countryside with plenty of walks and a close local village pub.

Cottage offers kitchen with a fridge which has a small integral freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine, cooking accessories, tea & coffee, dining table & chairs for upto four (additional guests carry an additional fee). Living area with plenty of comfortable seating & TV.

Bedroom has one king sized bed with space for additional single bed (which we can provide) and/or space for a cot to allow for children (cots are not provided) this is why we detail the cottage as sleeping 4 people, 2 adults plus 2 children depending on age. A spacious bathroom offers walk in shower & separate bath. We provide towels for humans but we don’t provide towels and blankets for animals.

Parking is available on site for one vehicle. Our property and grounds are non smoking throughout. Please note the cottage is in our garden which our dog uses, she is very friendly and welcoming. If you would like to sit with the cottage door open we recommend keeping the bottom section closed and the top half open, otherwise you may find her sitting on the sofa . . . . if you would like to bring your animal/s please drop us a message in advance of booking so we can clarify this would work for you and for us.

Close proximity to the M62 allowing easy access to surrounding Yorkshire towns and villages hosting a variety of outdoor experiences, tea rooms, garden centres and much much more.

Located on the South Bank of the River Ouse approx. 3’miles from Goole town which has various shops, supermarkets, canal walks and does offer the closest train station for travelling to other areas.

Centrally located for easy access to a variety of towns including Hull / Lincoln / York / Leeds / Sheffield. Selby Market Town is around a 30’minute drive and offers a Medieval Abbey along with plenty of shops and restaurants.

There is also a regular bus which runs from Goole to Scunthorpe and passes through Reedness.

Peaceful Getaway
This was a lovely cottage for our Christmas break, perfect for 2 adults and a dog. Maintained to a high standard and catered for all our needs. We'd like to return in Spring/Summer to further explore the area. Owners were very helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome. Little touches like xmas gifts for us and our dog were much appreciated. Thank you Lucy, Chris and Molly dog.

Perfect cozy getaway
Everything was perfect for a cozy few days to just chill and relax. We particularly enjoyed the underfloor heating and the hosts were lovely, leaving us homemade jam and homemade fruit juices. We very much enjoyed our stay

Not as good as expected
Overall the cottage was clean and tidy, however it lacked a few facilities. In the kitchen there was not enough cutlery or glasses. Out of date cooking oil spray (Sept 2022) in the cupboard and the salt & pepper were not usable. The washing machine did not have a dryer as far as we could see. Blunt kitchen knives and overall lack of cooking aids. The bedroom had a pretty unusable wardrobe, no dressing table or full length mirror. Cleaning products in the bathroom and a toilet brush were lacking. A suggestion to fence part of the garden for the sole use of the cottage would prevent the dog from doing ‘its business’ outside the front door which occurred one morning. Disappointed with the area.

Mini break
Had a fantastic short stay, could have stayed much longer. Awesome cottage, roomy with lovely furnishings. Very well equipped with everything and more that you could need. The garden location is picturesque. Lovely walks close by for our dog, along the river or through the village and easy walking distance to the local pub. Hosts are very welcoming. Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Don't miss the homemade jam, its lush.
