Casa Manzanita (little apple) features all the amenities expected at a 5-Star resort with added space & privacy. This home is located in the lantern district and on top of the hill overlooking the renowned Doheny Beach. Located less than a block away is Sea View Park, equipped with a brand new play area for children, gorgeous ocean views, and walking trail.

Casa Manzanita is one of the more versatile homes in the Stay Coastal Collection. It consists of an upper main floor that has two full baths and three bedrooms, as well as a lower in-law's quarters that features two bedrooms, one full bath, its own separate kitchen, living room and covered patio with seating and a fire pit. This home is designed with high end luxurious furniture, nautical antiques and state of the art amenities (chefs kitchen with Thermador, Viking and high-end appliances). This home has a smart sound system Sonos, Alexa, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a smart TV in every room, and a smart lock system. Each King-sized bed can be split into two single beds allowing for a dynamic and versatile space suitable for a variety of parties.The festive outdoor deck is strung with lights, has ample seating, a hammock, and fire pit, perfect for cozy evening gatherings.

There are a range of activities to choose from like Yoga sessions at the park, whale watching, fishing charters, visits to Catalina, jet-ski, ocean sports, and bike rentals. This home is minutes away from Dana Point's great restaurants, bars, music venues, surf shops, boutiques, parks, beaches and harbor.

Great House, Great Location

Ken was easy to work with and answered all of my questions. The house was amazing. It easily equipped are large family. It's centrally located and an easy walk to the beach. I would definitely come back my next trip to California.

Beautiful property filled with amenities

Everything was great for our sales retreat with five bedrooms. The owner anticipated our needs and we didn’t lack for anything. The 70” flat screen TV in the main room worked perfectly for our meeting. Sonos sound system throughout the home. The 2nd floor deck and fire pit made evenings very enjoyable. I’d highly recommend this property.

Perfect location, wonderful time

Thank you Ken for making our stay such fun. The house was clean, well equipped an in a great location. We stayed with 4 other couples and everyone had their own bedroom and the 3 bathrooms were shared. We walked about 10 minutes to Dana Point harbor to get the ferry to Catalina one morning. Another day the girls drove to Fashion Island for some shopping. The kitchen was so well equipped we had breakfast each day and celebrated a birthday with a big seafood dinner one evening. We sat around the fireplace on the patio each evening and had snacks and drinks. There was a stack of blankets by the door for our use on cooler evenings. We were able to park 3 of our cars in the driveway-it was a little tight but we made it. Quiet street with very little traffic going by. There was no view of the ocean but we were on the hill overlooking the city. We all agreed we would stay again. Thank you Ken.

Weekend away

The upstairs was very nice and updated. I didn’t realize that the upstairs and downstairs were separate with no connection on the inside. I would have preferred not having to go outside to get between the two. Other than that, Ken was great and very easy to contact. The house was clean. It was nice.

Family Fun

The property was perfect for a large family. Has everything you need and more. The downstairs has no air conditioning, so it was really warm in the evenings. Had to open all the windows, which some don't have screens. The house is close to everything. I would definitely stay again.

Casa Manzanita is a beautiful property. The location and view are lovely and the house is beautiful yet livable. The kitchen is very well stocked. I did not need the extra supplies that I am accustomed to bringing. My family really enjoyed our stay.

Short beach trip with friends

Came down to meet up with a few friends for a 3-day beach trip. Property was clean and very accurate to the listing. Came with all the amenities we needed, including beach towels and a few chairs. •Second bathroom tub clogged from beginning of visit, making it impossible to get rid of the sand •Neither oven works at all •Downstairs is way too hot with air conditioning not sufficient •Outdoor fireplace does not work at all •Water pressure in master bathroom is very poor • Lighting in both bathrooms is very poor, they were both dark •Beach tent does not work at all. •The air-conditioning was not connected at all downstairs. •The downstairs bathroom is infested with ants. •The door app that was used to open and lock and unlock the door was very frustrating and difficult to use. •My daughter got bug bites in her bed in the master bedroom bed every night • Overall, cleanliness was not up to par

Great accommodations!

We loved this house! We rented both units for more space. Everything was clean and everything was provided that we needed. We had my parents and our 3 kids. the kids used the lower unit for their hangout space. Ken was great! we had a few issues w the lock but he took care of it. We’d definitely go back!

The pictures looked good..........

On the surface, this looked like the perfect rental for our family reunion, but the lack of basic needs ( a working oven!) ruined our stay. The fact that the “last tenant had the same problem” only rubbed salt in the wound. We went to buy all the groceries to cook Christmas dinner in the “gourmet kitchen” only to find the thermadore oven didn’t work and the grill didn’t work (on day 2 of our 7 day stay). We called Ken who did respond within 2 hours and told us it would be very expensive to get someone in on Christmas to fix (not my problem!). He then brought over 2 “air fryers” (think toaster ovens) and a full propane tank for the grill. By Thursday (day 4), we point blank asked Ken if he was giving up on us. Finally, late Friday (day 5) the oven was fixed enough so we could use it (Jerry-rigged, no fire danger there!!!). Sadly, the air-fryers tripped the circuit several times and we made our way in the dark rainy night to circuit box to flip it back. (Again, fire danger?) Ken continually pointed us to the downstairs unit kitchen but that oven had smoked and set off fire alarms when we first used it. (3! Fire hazard hat trick!) The garbage disposal stopped working on day 6 and by that time we gave up caring. Ken came early on our check out day (the guest book says noon checkout) and asked if they could clean early. Basically, a kitchen to look at but not cook at! If you don’t want to eat in and cook, this is a good property for you. Otherwise we found it subpar for what was advertised.

Lantern Village

We rented one property and were then told on the day we arrived that it was double booked and were offered a different property. Neither property looked as good as what was on the website. Ken did try to make things right and gave us a 10% discount on our stay. The property was adequate for our stay but not what we had expected. The 2 condo like properties we rented were well stocked. There were cleanliness issues and the property was not cleaned mid-week like we asked for. Issues were addressed and Ken was responsive.

Fabulous home for our family vacation

This home was the perfect size and layout for our family of 8 adults. Great gathering space both inside and out and a gourmet kitchen like no other! Perfect location- so close to the harbor, restaurants and beach. The beach chairs, towels, umbrellas were key for us as we spent a lot of time at the water. Ken was fantastic- responsive and helpful. Will definitely stay again next time we are in OC.

Beautiful home in perfect location!

Our group’s stay was fantastic at Ken’s beautiful home! The property was clean, stocked up with all necessary supplies, and within walking distance to everything Dana had to offer. The property also had beach towels, beach chairs, and much more at our disposal which was very convenient!

Summer vacation at Dana Point

I took a trip with my family in the summer and stayed at this property , we had such a wonderful time and so happy to stay here. It was so clean and has a lot of space for everyone. Ken is very nice and easy going. I’m glad to choose this place for our vacation. We’re definitely come back again.

We flew out our eastern family members to join us for an early Christmas in CA. We had 9 guests and all slept comfortably throughout the rooms. The rooms were well appointed with all amenities needed, including robes, and the bathrooms were meticulous in amenities, including shampoos and mouthwash. The service was outstanding. Any question we had, they would answer the text or email within minutes and take care of any request. We would definitely stay here again. Cheers.

We had a large group, the main house is very spacious and deck provides open space feel. The lower apartment was perfect for our needs. House is walking distance to harbor and beach. Great experience and would definitely rent again. Thank you Ken!
