Charming quirky coastal Cottage Port Ellen

This cosy , homely former crofter’s cottage with sheep , hares etc in surrounding fields  is located in a wonderful rural spot ( pa42 7al area ) just off distillery road to the Oa area , a short distance past the new Port Ellen distillery, turn sharp right on to the single track road at the new Daill na Mara houses , a recent modern housing development which is now nearby on seaward side of the cottage only .
Homely , comfortable  living areas and the peaceful rural location makes it the perfect choice for a family get away or get together with friends. This refurbished in 2018 cottage retains much of its quirky traditional character but also includes a host of modern comforts, making it an ideal home away from home.

This property has a real coal fire and electric heating to keep you cosy and warm during your stay.
Staying here also allows you access to the open garden.
Oh, and it’s pet-friendly too!


As a self-catering cottage, you'll find everything you need for a perfect stay.
The kitchen has a fridge, a hob, an oven, a toaster, a kettle, an air fryer , a cafetiere coffee maker, and a microwave.

In the first bedroom, you will find a double bed also a small screen smart tv .

This is NOT a 5 star modern unit ,  it’s a comfy 3 star rated but spacious “home from home” , a 100 plus years old modernised former crofters cottage with an
 unconventional Jack and Jill style layout !

Guest access to kitchen / toilet /shower from room 2 in extension is only by passing through room 1
Access from main building to bedrooms one and two is only through the kitchen and shower room / toilet although two bedroom extension has separate access door from garden area .
ask if more information required * There is only one bathroom, which has a toilet and sink and a walk-in shower.


Linen and towels are all included .

- Check-in time is 4pm and check-out is 10am.
(Cleaner needs prompt access ) to prepare for incoming guests
- Smoking is not allowed.
- There are ample free on-street lay by parking facilities available at the property.
- A washing machine is included for your use.
