Great Vrbo for a weekend getaway, easy to get to from Calgary. River access was great and the covered deck area was perfect.

Lovely house. We enjoyed it greatly. It is secluded with a river flowing by the property. I recommend it if you like privacy, silence, tranquility.

The location was ideal for our get-together and we really enjoyed our stay. The covered deck off the main living area is a real bonus. The host was responsive and helpful, and everything in the listing was accurate — having the river that close made the stay incredibly memorable. One note on check-in: there's no cell service at the front gate. We ended up walking down to the house to piggyback off the Wi-Fi. I'd suggest confirming check-in details with the host before you drive up.Clean and tidy, with lots of little areas around the house where you could get some time to yourself while everyone was still visiting together. Would highly recommend this spot.

The main part of the house was absolutely beautiful. And accurately described. The owners were VERY responsive and accommodating. They even did a little shopping for us the day before we came in. However we were a little underwhelmed with the downstairs bedrooms. When you walk into the house you are walking into one of the bedrooms (no privacy). The other bedroom with the two full beds and a single bed were situated in what I would call a “screened in porch”, pretty much outside. Other than that it was a wonderful place, very spacious, well kept and clean. I would stay again.

Waiporous Village Get Away

Property was in a beautiful location off of Ghost River. It was a great property for getting away with family and still being in driving distance of Banff, Canmore, and Banff National Park. It was quiet and secluded in a rural area. We saw deer daily as we were out and about.

Canada Paradise

We loved the seclusion & beauty. Ghost river & mountain views. Everything well stocked. Screened in porches with tables, chairs, gas grill, & fire pit. The only downside for 2 of us in our mid 70's was the number of steps in & out of the home.

Breath of fresh air

We held a surprise 50th birthday celebration for a weekend. This place was perfect for us. It is uniquely spacious and beautiful. We loved the screened outdoor living spaces (was necessary as it rained for 2 days straight), loved the fire pit area and path to the look out point near the river. So incredibly beautiful and serene. The home is very clean and had everything we needed - even for a larger gathering / BBQ. The host was quick to reply to all my questions leading up to our stay there. We will be back to stay here in the future.

Bad experience

The place was so far away but the shower was accidentally broken by my friends daughter. Which resulted in several deep cuts all over her body. The owner even questioned us of being drunk. The owner did not even ask us if we had gone to the hospital all he was concerned about was the broken glass. And the shower handle was already detached when we arrived.

Hi Lester, We appreciate your feedback and hope to improve your experience in the future. It was an unfortunate incident that happened and I tried to do everything possible to make your stay comfortable. I remember when the booking was initially made - I clarified the location for you and even helped you cancel it the first time at the risk of listing being deactivated. I had provided you with all the information for first aid kit, the nearest hospital facility - Cochrane medical facility when we first learnt about the incident in the morning. In the future, please consider reporting immediately to get assistance. Also, the VRBO app contains all emergency information like medical facilities, first aid kit and other helpful items including location as well while booking. I hope you and your family are doing well.

My husband and I enjoy this property as our home away from the day to day rush of life. We love the mountains, river and nature and treat this as our treasured, sacred and happy place. We love sharing our bit of treasure with our guests as they explore the Rockies and take memories home.

Why they chose this property

Our own access to the river, undivided views of the mountains, freely roaming wildlife makes this our favorited spot and our place to call home. Easy access to Ghost river public land use area as well as unchartered paths to drive through make it our favorite.
