Great stay for two couples and two dogs in the very comfortable apartment

The letting agency was exceptionally helpful with queries. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable, extremely handy for the beach ( and, of course, The White Eagle below!). One or two niggles - not good water pressure in shower, some slats broken on the wooden blinds but nothing which impacted our lovely holiday.

The Nest

Beautiful premises, ideally situated over a premier restaurant, short walk to the beach. The only problem we found were the windows. They need replacing. Decor neutral, bed in main bedroom was enormous and extremely comfortable.would highly recommend.

The Nest in May

Absolutely loved our stay in The Nest at the White Eagle. This is our third year visiting. The only reason we have scored lower on condition and cleanliness is the roof terrace which consisted of a broken table, discarded parasol frame and scattered chairs all requiring a good clean so unfortunately we couldn’t sit out as we would have liked. The apartment was beautiful

A week away in January

We stayed for one week in January at the Nest. The property was a lovely place to explore the island. We ate at the White Eagle and the food was lovely. We also had drinks in the bar most evenings and found all the staff and regular customers were very friendly and welcoing.

This apartment is absolutely gorgeous!

We had the most wonderful stay at ‘The Nest’. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous and has everything you need to be total luxury. Barbara was amazing in organising our booking, so a special thank you to her. I would also like to thank the amazing cleaners who go that ‘extra mile’ to make the place ‘sparkle’! Thank you and we will be back.

Strange layout

Nice clean well sited flat in old house converted to pub years ago. No mention of very steep access stairs with no proper handrail, one bathroom and one toilet open directly onto communal areas with embarrassing lack of privacy- important when fully occupied. Outdoor roof space next to kitchen vent pipe exits! Usual Anglesey sewage/drain/septic tank problems. Shower plumbing fittings and door could do with attention but that’s all the bad stuff. Would stay again but not with elderly people, only a couple or family due to bathroom /toilet problem mentioned.

Autumn Break

We really enjoyed our week at The Nest. The location is great, with plenty of nearby scenic walks and of course the lovely pub is only downstairs! The apartment is spacious and well equipped, but some of the furniture is looking tired and in need of refreshment (eg the sofas in lounge).

Excellent. Could be noisy early in the mornings with deliveries to the fantastic pub downstairs.

Looked forward all year to this apartment and was not disappointed. It was clean and tidy and the kitchen was well equipped. Had a fantastic stay.

Family 2 night holiday

The nest was a perfect choice for our family break. We were a party of 3 and all enjoyed having our own bedrooms with very comfortable superking beds. The accommodation worked brilliantly for us, lots of space and comfort. The kitchen was well equipped and have everything we needed including a lovely welcome bag. On arrival one of the bedrooms wasn't made up, but the staff at the White Eagle pub sorted that out for us, as one of their bar staff was also a housekeeper. The only negative is the roof terrace. On our arrival day it was very warm and the terrace was swarming with flies around the pub kitchen vents, which made it unpleasant to sit outside. The view from inside the lounge towards the beach was much better anyway! We would all recommend the nest as a place to stay, so long as you don't need outside space.

Enjoyable stay

Spacious apartment, well equipped, ideal for the white eagle pub , has its own car parking space. Fabulous views . Could benefit from tv in bedrooms and fans. Fly screen on roof terrace doors Overall a lovely property possibly needs a touch of paint in places where work has been done.

Little Gem

This is the second time I have stayed at the Nest, both have been for special occasions. The place is amazing, well maintained, comfortable, and definitely has a wow factor. The White eagle below also adds to the experience, where the staff are fantastic .

Enjoyable stay at The Nest

We had a really enjoyable stay at “The Nest”, it is bright and spacious, and being above the White Eagle is a bonus. The staff in the white Eagle are all amazing, happy and friendly. NOT a complaint, just a suggestion, the pillows were in need of replacement and the sofas/chairs in the living room needed a good clean, also, We were unable to sit out on the patio area because of the noise from the extractor fan, which was a shame.

Lovely accommodation in a picturesque spot

The nest was a stylish and lovely accommodation with beautiful furnishings and within walking distance of a secluded beach…on arrival however upon opening the utensils drawer there was a really unpleasant smell . This was only resolved after thoroughly washing all the pans and the drawer… a dirty pan appeared to have been in there a while…..other than that the cleanliness was ok., but it spoiled our first impression of the place…..the pub below was busy and vibrant , a little noisy but we expected that.

Relaxing stay

A few things to note that we believe need to be addressed. The dishwasher door is faulty, will not stay down unless held, which makes it really difficult and awkward to load and unload. The small fridge has no shelf in the door so cannot store milk or juice cartons. The biggest issue is 2nd bathroom only has a hand shower, so there is only one useable shower for a 4 bed property, which is not enough ( and that shower cubicle is vey small and clumsy to use). Luckily there were only 4 of us so we could share but had there been more people, it would definitely be a big problem.

The apartment is large & comfortable. Very clean & well equipped. We had an issue operating the heating but a call to Anglesey Lettings very quickly resolved the issue & they offered to attend if it did not. Far better caretaker service than their competitors in Rhoscolyn. Only minor issues were a smell of damp in one bathroom, the shower attachment in one bathroom was not functioning correctly and it would be a benefit if the shower hose were attached to the wall in the second bathroom. Also the bedroom and bathroom windows were difficult to open. Overall a fabulous stay in a wonderful position with an excellent restaurant downstairs. We shall definitely return.

Really good stay, but could have been excellent with a few tweaks

Really well kitted out flat, amazing location, great pub underneath, and stunning views. Stayed here last year as well, but felt the flat had a few more minor niggles this time. Kickboard under kitchen units kept falling down, walls showing sign off wear and tear, and fridge door trays were either broken or missing. Balcony/terrace area is a welcome addition, but not in great condition Biggest issue was the same as last year - when’s it’s hot, the flat is really hard to cool down. Lots of windows screwed shut - not sure if this because it’s old or H&S concerns, but really effects comfort. A couple of ceiling fans could fix this really easily Storage is lacking throughout, but not really an issue Non of this would put us off returning, but would def bring a fan next time.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for choosing to return for another stay. We’re so pleased you enjoyed the location, views and the convenience of the pub beneath the flat. We’re grateful for your constructive comments too – it’s really helpful for us and the owners to know where improvements can be made. We’ll pass on your notes regarding the kitchen fittings, fridge and balcony condition, as well as the décor, so these can be reviewed. Your suggestion about ceiling fans is a great idea and something we’ll raise, especially given the challenges with ventilation in warmer weather. It’s great to hear that none of these points would put you off returning, and we’d love to welcome you back again on your next visit.

Great for a short break

The White Eagle is is a lovely position - just a short 10 minute walk to the excellent beach at Rhoscolyn. The pub is very popular and we enjoyed a nice meal there too. Whilst busy, the pub noise does not affect the apartment which is clean and deceptively spacious. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped although we had to replace our kettle half way through our four day break. Angelesey lettings proved a replacement very promptly and efficiently. The one draw back of the apartment was that the outside patio area is well presented on the promotional website but the reality is this is not really useable. There is a huge noisy extractor fan pipe from the pub that dominates the patio and makes sitting in this area not really appropriate. With the doors shut the fan can not be heard inside. However the lack of outdoor space I think in this context makes the property best suited to a short getaway rather than a weeks stay which I suspect is the target market. On this basis we would positively recommend the apartment. The pub is a little isolated but there is easy access to the rest of the island within 10 minutes drive.

Excellent family holiday

We stayed at The Nest at The White Eagle in Anglesey with two families (five kids between us) and had such a fantastic time. From the moment we booked, we were impressed by the brilliant digital welcome magazine – it gave us all the information we needed in one place, which made planning so easy. The apartment itself was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly set up for families, with everything we could possibly need. The kids had plenty of room to play and the adults could relax. The outside space is limited in the apartment but lots of garden in the pub. There is a flight of stairs up and you can't always park outside the entrance but we did always find parking in the pub carpark. The white eagle is the pub below – such a lovely spot with a welcoming atmosphere and great food. It was bank holiday weekend so it was buzzing with live music and people milling around and we embraced the atmosphere! .. Some nights you could hear the pub noise till 10pm ish but our kids slept through it no problem. The beach is a walk or a short drive down a single track road but it's a lovely beach with kid friendly shallow water.. All in all, a wonderful stay that worked brilliantly for both kids and adults – we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would love to return!

Lovely

Lovely spacious property in beautiful, quiet location. The property is nicely presented with lots of amenities. Parking is easy and having the pub so close is great. The food at the White Eagle never disappoints. The walk to the beach is lovely and close and there are several walks from the property with keen doggies. Our only issues with the property were the windows and Juliet balcony glass screen that was salty and obscured the stunning views. Definitely hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Our second issue was the side terrace which in the photos suggest a lovely inviting area to sit with pots of plants. Unfortunately on our visit the pots contained dead plants and were full of water. The terrace needed a jet wash to remove green algae. The area is also noisy when two large fans from the pub are operating. Our final issue was the fridge which was small with broken door shelves which meant there was nowhere to stand milk which then leaked. With the windows/screens cleaned and the terrace improved this property would be 10/10,

Lovely but.....

There is a lot to love about this apartment.... it is spacious, some lovely views, it is tastefully decorated, well equipped, the beds are super comfy and it was spotlessly clean. So it's a real shame that maintenance has been neglected. Problems that we found included: - the lid on one of the toilet cisterns had been repaired with green sticky tape and a note added indicating that a repair had been ordered. This was dated August 2024 - nearly a year ago! - one door-shelf in the small fridge broken and unusable, the other shelf missing altogether; - in the walk-in shower only the overhead rainfall head worked properly. Water only dribbled out of the moveable handset on the riser; - many slats are broken on the various wooden window blinds, making some of them awkward to operate; - attractive battery-operated candles are provided but the batteries were dead and so the candles could not be lit. Finally, I object to being asked to strip my own bed linen and empty the bins when I stay somewhere. I expect this to be covered by the work of the housekeeping staff. So little effort would be required to make everything perfect.... such a shame that it has been neglected.

Great Location with fair accommodation

We stayed as a family late May early JUne. Weather was fantastic and the pub below was very busy day and evening. Thought that the apartment would be noisy over the busy pub. But, no there was little noise to disturb us. Pub staff were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was a little bit of a problem on first day but with the help of pub management was soon sorted. Apartment was spacious with four bedrooms (one was a single with bunk beds), reasonably well decorated. There were a few niggles such as trying to find cutlery which was in a hidden draw in island unit and the induction hob was hard to switch on (a wet finger and some rubbing finally did the trick). There were some maintence issues such as cracked window and broken latch in kitchen window and broken slats (2) in "californian blinds". Provisions such as tea coffee, toilet rolls etc were a little sparse. The most disappointing feature was the outside space (terrace) which show nicely in online brochure, but was unusable, because of exhaust fans from pub, and not cleaned - bird droppings dust etc. Overall, we would stay there again because of location, but only if we were unable to find better accommodation. PS A more comprehensive list of instructions such as where to dispose of rubbish, location of cutlery etc would have improved the overall impression of the Nest.
Response from VrboOwner on 23 Jul 2023
Thank you so much for leaving us such a comprehensive review from your recent stay.We have passed on your feedback regarding the outside space and believe that our caretaking team are addressing the issues that you have raised. We have also requested further instruction for both the hob and the hidden cutlery drawer. We do hope that this few 'niggles' as you say, do not distract you from a future stay at The Nest.

weekend break - issues

Firstly the positives Fabulous first impressions, very spacious, bright and clean. Lovely furnishings and fittings and great view. Points that disappointed - Kitchen- Fridge is very small for the accommodation and amount of guests, made even smaller by the fact holder for milk etc was broken and left on top of a cupboard! Therefore made even less room for food storage- Bathroom off kitchen -no extractor fan and not able to open window! As a result paint peeling off the wall near the shower. Dbl bedroom off kitchen- radiator leaking so damaged a guests bag. Not able to open window in this room. Biggest disappointment was the outside area! we had beautiful weather that weekend so wanted to make use of the outdoor space. This resembled nothing like the images on the website! absolutely filthy, table broken in the centre so not able to use the umbrella, and table dirty. Goodness knows when this area was last swept or cleaned. This is the start of summer, utterly unacceptable to think guests want to sit in such a mess. Door to get out to this are doesn't open easily so had to be left unlocked. I have taken photos that I would like to send to you, so could you please let me know email to send to please. I await your reply Regards Joan Smith
