Perfect holiday home.

I have to start off by stating that we had slight reservations about the overall size of the property as the photos made it look just a bit small, but once at the property those misgivings disappeared. The property is much roomier than the photos suggest and there is just about everything you would need for a family holiday. On arrival we were greeted by the amazing Margarita and a basket of goodies to tide us over. She always made herself available when needed, responded to every query, and fully resolved the few very minor issues that arose. Randomly dropping off a cake and a bottle of wine on two separate occasions was just one of the small touches that helped to make this a great holiday. The villa is really well furnished and provides everything you’d require for a self-catering break. The pool and outdoor area was larger than it looks online and it took some effort to drag our two teenagers away. The alternate-day cleaning and towel change made this feel more like a luxury hotel with everything kept fresh and clean. Prior to arriving, Manos was on hand to deal with any queries and I’d have no hesitation in booking another Villa with this company.

I am Manos, owner and manager of CreteVillas4U. I have been in the hospitality sector long before CreteVillas4U, however. I was actually born, grew up, and spent most of my life in a hotel owned by my family. So, I guess it came as no surprise when I expressed my wish to study in Rhodes’ Tourism School and, later on, when I decided to start my own business in the sector.
One thing I learned growing up in a family-run hotel is that hospitality is more than hotel management, logistics and operations. It is a culture, passing down from one generation to the next. You can study to be a hotel manager but you cannot study to be hospitable.
I apply this philosophy in my business as well. The rule is simple: the guests of the villas I manage are my guests. As an active traveller, I expect nothing less myself.
The fourth generation of Dafermos hoteliers has already been born. I know now that my two beautiful children will probably follow my steps, like I did before them. There is a small difference though: they are smarter, more educated, better (big smile).

Villa Aura is a new luxury villa rental located only 20km from the Heraklion city center and about 22km from the Heraklion International Airport. The stunning Lygaria Beach is just 400m from the holiday villa and there is a minimarket (Super Market Apostolis) within 200m. There are quite a few popular restaurants, cafés, and bars in the area for guests to dine at, including Tavern Stelios (7 minutes), Amazona Restaurant, Bar & Art Gallery (13 minutes), and Thigaterra - The Art of Slow Food (18 minutes). The motorway is 2km from the holiday rental, as is the nearest petrol station. The nearest hospital is the University Hospital of Heraklion (20km) and there are amenities including shops, bakeries, and pharmacies in nearby Agia Pelagia (2.9km).
