Don’t stay here!! An expensive disappointment that was dealt with terribly.
Unfortunately our experience was less than satisfactory, the standard of service and how my complaint was handled is absolutely shameful. I’ve waited 5 years for this holiday due to cancer treatment so this was a treat for myself, husband, son & fiancé. When we arrived the pool was green and so it wasn’t useable until the next day. That evening the lights in the gardens weren’t working either.or the next.
The next day woken with drilling in the apartment below which is part of Horizonte club. This is how we were woken EVERY SINGLE MORNING @ approx 7/7.30 ish. I spoke to steffen who said the owner wouldn’t stop it because he didn’t care.
The one morning it didn’t happen, the Gardner came earlier and he woke us dragging huge palm leaves through the corridor making an almighty racket. The corridor ran along both our bedroom walls. I asked the Gardner to stop. He did not.
I always sleep with ear plugs in too.
I am not well. I don’t sleep until 3 or 4 most mornings , so I need quiet. Who on earth expects that behaviour on holiday. It’s disgraceful and extremely upsetting. No one cared at all. I’d paid nearly 4.000 euros for 7 days. I might as well have gone to a hostel for the amount of service, & luxury we got, which was non.
The smaller room was onto the lounge. The curtains didn’t meet. They were see through so it was very light very early. There was a window into the corridor. The lights in the corridor never ever went off so that lit up the room. They were up earlier than when they go to wk. It was embarrassing actually. It was not enjoyable. No privacy.
We were leaving on Friday. Thursday we went out and just before the electric went off. We let steffen know so we had to cut our night short and go back. It was in pitch black. Nothing on, air con, fridge etc. we needed to pack, but it was totally in the dark so could not. We needed to charge phones for e tickets, codes, covid passes etc. it was so stressful. I was exhausted, my back was very bad. I needed to lay down. I had to take myself off and have a cry in private. My god it was the absolute last straw.
I suppose luckily, no one was in the smaller apartment upstairs so steffen gave us a key as electric fine up there. He said we could use the bathrooms and sleep there so we gathered our toiletries and went upstairs.
No bedding! We had to drag the bedding up. Electric was on in morning so we packed and left. I’ve received 25% back. Disgraceful when not one single day was ok.
