Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review on VRBO, and for your kind comments. It was a pleasure to have you as guests and wanted to thank you for leaving the place so clean & tidy, it is very much appreciated (sorry I missed out on giving you 5 stars for cleanliness and house rules, it was a complete oversight on my part and you deserve 5 star for both)

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in
The property was well positioned with views over the bay. The facilities provided were adequate and well thought our for a party with dogs. The issues we had were over cleanliness and communication. On arrival the key was not in the keybox, instead we found the conservatory door to be open and only later did we discover the key to be left in the door. There was no welcome pack, though some milk and tea had been left, but no instructions for the dishwasher, TV, showers or other appliances and no toilet rolls, which was tricky for the female party members after a long drive. The kitchen had an unpleasant smell of stale cooking oil, which we eventually traced to the hob extractor fan. We put the removable filters through the dishwasher which reduced the smell. The kitchen bin was broken which made disposing of food waste a messy affair and there was a bucket with cigarette ends by the side door.We all had to use the downstairs shower as the drain in the en-suite shower was blocked and so likely to flood. The downstairs shower was difficult to control and often led to the bathroom floor getting wet.As no instructions were left we were limited to iPlayer only on the TV. The heating did not work, meaning some of the party had to go to bed early to keep warm. After contacting the owner, he came and turned the heating on for us.Overall we enjoyed our holiday, but more despite rather than because of the accommodation. It is a nice property, let down by poor management and cleaning.

Really sorry that your holiday was spoiled by the key being left in door instead of keybox. There was1 toilet roll in each toilet and there was milk, tea, biscuits and free range local eggs left for you at the property. Instruction manuals are in kitchen drawer but dishwasher is quite straightforward, and to be honest I do not leave instructions for showers - as is often the case in hotels. I am not sure why you thought upstairs shower was blocked as folk in last week and this week have not had any problems with it. It is unfortunate that due to the very hot August weather the guests visiting the week before you turned off the central heating, which you alerted us to at 10.14pm 5 days after you arrived and which we sorted within 5 minutes. I find it quite baffling that with all these problems you decided to live with them rather than bring them to our attention on arrival or within the first day to enable us to deal with them as you had our contact number and on the occasion you telephoned after 10 at night we visited you very quickly and sorted the problem.
A comfy, roomy house on the beach (well very nearly). Fitted our needs and more.
Gave us everything for a relaxing, much needed getaway.
